Fair use rationale for Image:Carla corrie.jpg
[edit]Image:Carla corrie.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

About lesbian affair and death part of article
[edit]Why has someone typed up that Carla has a lesbian affair with Blanche before dying? This hasn't happened in Coronation Street and therefore isn't factual and should be deleted from Carla's profile. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lovinblue4eva (talk • contribs) 21:31, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
How many brothers?
[edit]Darren was only ever mentioned in the show very early on, and if I'm honest I cannot remember him ever being mentioned, although last year when her mother died did she not reference a brother? Now we have confirmation of Rob coming into the show is this not the same brother? Alex250P (talk) 21:10, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Villain?
[edit]How is Carla a villain? why is she included in that category surely Karl Munro is more of a villain. He has killed Sunita yet he isn't under that category and Carla is? mistake there I think. --86.169.26.201 (talk) 15:45, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Alison King was nominated in the category of "villain of the year" at the British Soap Awards in 2008, so Carla was a villain once if not any more.92.232.245.253 (talk) 13:47, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Karl has been added to the soap villains list page now.92.232.245.253 (talk) 21:57, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

Exit
[edit]She is leaving in 2016. You must be gullible to believe the reports of her taking a break. She wants to do other things and any break in contract counts as an exit. I left my old job 2 years ago, I could say I am on a break from it but I am not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.18.190.78 (talk) 17:29, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
There's no 'instead of taking a sabbatical, it was announced she'd be leaving permanently' about it. She was always leaving. She was never taking a sabbatical. That was obviously Corrie playing down reports of her exit at a time the show hasn't been very good. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.75.162.2 (talk) 21:26, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
Length
[edit]This is regarding this edit. I think it's pretty obvious, but to briefly explain, there are three overlapping issues: The section is far too detailed for an encyclopedic summary, the section has no sources at all, and the section is written in such a way that it would require a detailed prior knowledge of the programme to even begin to make any sense of it.
Fixing the first problem involves removing extraneous information, the second involves finding reliable sources with a strong preference for independent sources, and the third involves attempting to approach this from the perspective of someone who isn't familiar with the show. Trying to explain the full history of a long-running soap opera is not practical, of course, but right now this section is so deep in the muck that it's incomprehensible. Instead of a beat-by-beat account of all the characters specific actions and motivations, a summary would be dramatically more informative, and this would help address all three problems. The Overall tone
[edit]I know that flagging articles is contentious but sometimes with articles that undergo many changes the overall tone can suffer. The paragraph discussing the character's storyline is very long and is poorly written. I understand that the character has endured a lot but each event should be written as a separate sentence. Please look over it again and be bold EhsanQ (talk) 21:19, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
Carla Connor or Carla Barlow?
[edit]So this has been on ongoing issue for a while with editors changing her name from one to the other, I feel we should come to some consensus and sort the issue once and for all. I feel, as the article is titled Carla Connor, the lede should begin with Carla Connor (also Barlow and Gordon). Tommi1986 let's talk! 13:43, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
- It's a soap, it's not real life - people get married and divorced just like that. How many different surnames has Gail had? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 14:44, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
- I'm aware it's not real life, the reason for the RfC is to provide consistency and consensus, otherwise the page will be in an edit war loop with those who want it to be one or the other. Tommi1986 let's talk! 16:13, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
- The consensus for the format has always been that the article title is their common name, while the name in the lead is their current credited name; that's Carla Barlow. See Gail Platt and Cher Winters as an example. – DarkGlow • 11:35, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
