Lists
[edit]Would someone care to explain what is meant by:
Note: + Mark Means They Still Airs On The Cartoon Cartoons Programme Everyday At 11pm On Cartoon Network Before They Aired On Cartoon Network TOO.
and why a seperate list is required underneath the list of Previous Programming; Wikipedia is not a TV Guide. - Lee Stanley 18:07, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- The former programming list is about half the length of the page. It should probably be deleted or split off. Mdotley 23:46, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Technical Faults and interruptions
[edit]Why is this long paragraph present on every Cartoon Network page? Is it really interesting or important about a single time the channel went off air? There have probably been other faults in the past like it that aren't mentioned. Not that they should be, because I can't think who could possibly care. --86.130.140.116 09:26, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- This bit doesn't even make grammatical sense: "On 27 July 2006 in the UK, Cartoon Network, along with the other channels, TCM, Boomerang, Toonami, Boomerang +1 and CN Too suffered a major technical fault due to a power cut in Soho, London. This was due to the energy supplier EDF Energy cutting power from different parts of Soho one at a time for four hours, purposely, due to the inability as the 2006 European heat wave had hit Turner Broadcasting System Europe." Lee M (talk) 03:11, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
I think the list should be updated a bit?
[edit]You know. So its more up-to-date then it is now Philip1992 18:24, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Philip1992
Most of the episodes on the 'Former Progamming' list still come on Cartoon Network late it night (though they are called Cartoon Cartoons as a whole). So the list should be updated. :/ 90.200.198.130 03:42, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- the biggest problem is they airing most of the shows classed as former program in cartoon cartoons, but there no spefic way it airs and never set time they coudl air one episode fromn one show then never air that show for a year so it bit a flase negative to put them there but wehy do people want a new article for it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewcrawford (talk • contribs) 18:09, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Longest Day
[edit]The history section states this:
"Another feature was "The Longest Day", in which Cartoon Network ran for an extra four hours until 11:00pm on 21 June 1993, every year.[citation needed] This slot was dedicated to full-length cartoon movies."
This does not make sense as the channel didn't launch until September 17, 1993. So how can the longest day take place on June 21, 1993?
Cartoon Network UK did have a feature called "The Longest Day" in the 1990's because I can remember it, but I have difficulty finding an accurate source to prove this. CN UK couldn't of had a longest day event on June 21, 1993, as you said the channel hasn't even been launched yet. Bevanl (talk) 19:19, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
Adult Swim
[edit]The Adult Swim block on Bravo is no longer aired hasnt been for a few months now
- Ok but what has this to do with cartoon netwokr?--Andrewcrawford (talk) 22:09, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Cartoon Network HD
[edit]Hello
Can someone please provide a source proving Cartoon Network intends to go HD? Same for Nicktoons UK, they are both without source. Danielcrangle (talk) 18:32, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- well apart fro teh obvious tha they will liek ther eamerican coutnerparts now uk catching up on hd, this comes from internal sources just part ciation required tag on them--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 12:12, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Actual Cartoon Network UK Launch Date
[edit]Lately I have been putting more sources in the article and changing the layout of the history section to make it more presentable, but I have a question, When did the UK have their own country specific version of Cartoon Network?. I'm sure 17 September 1993 was the launch date of the pan-European version of Cartoon Network, even though it did broadcast from Turner's offices in the UK in multiple languages (and it was the first country outside of the U.S. to have Cartoon Network office), but it is not the launch date of the UK and Ireland only version of Cartoon Network. Other articles such as Cartoon Network (France), mention a launch date after it became independent from the pan-Euro version. The article Cartoon Network (Europe) claims that it was launched on 17 September 1993, but this was the only version of Cartoon Network that was available in the early 90's, I believe this article needs clarification on the actual launch date and any help would be greatly appreciated. Bevanl (talk) 18:42, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- you are not goign ot finda source of when it did launch because things liek that where not recorded as such, but i know the channels was broadcasting ion 1995 in fact i know it was before as cartoon network premiered dragonball z in the uk and it premierd between 93 and 95 you might find a sourcefor when it aired int eh uk so giving a indicitive launch date of between yoru date and teh first airign of draognball z--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 19:14, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
I believe I've worked out the start date for the UK and Ireland service, it's 15th October 1999, this was when the short-lived UK only version of TNT was launched (when it became a general entertainment channel rather then showing classic movies). The Cartoon Network/TNT timeshare feed was scrambled with Videocrypt (which was used by BSkyB) on the Astra 1C satellite on this date. However the Middle East and Africa was still able to receive the UK channel but these places have a small audience. The pan-euro version moved to Sirius II at 5 degrees east during Summer 1999 to cover countries that don't yet have their own versions of Cartoon Network (i.e. Eastern Europe). Also to point out the UK and Ireland were not affected by the satellite move. Also I think this was the date when Squares (Powerhouse) era started, which began when Courage the Cowardly Dog and Mike Lu and Og were new shows and the cartoonnetwork.co.uk website at the time matched the new look. Also after this date all of the times on the channel were UK only and service was only in English. Bevanl (talk) 19:12, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Cartoon Network UK and EMEA
[edit]I'm way outside the Europe so I can't watch European channels on satellite. So I leave some request here.
If some of you have an access to Cartoon Network Middle East, Africa, Greece and Greek Cyprus channel, can you compare it with Cartoon Network UK and Ireland? If those two carry exactly same schedule at the same time but with minor variation in adverts and promos during break time, then I'll have to direct all the CN EMEA redirects from Cartoon Network to Cartoon Network (UK & Ireland), and put the availability note outside UK and Ireland on the CN UK&IE article. Censorship
[edit]There isn't any mention of censorship originating from Cartoon Network UK. Things like editing out episodes and cutting some episodes all together. [1] Orcanium (talk) 14:16, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
