According to this, Hyslop, the first director, led a team that discovered the gene responsible for early-onset Alzheimer's. I'd say that was a pretty "significant contribution" in my book. SpinningSpark 11:16, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@SpinningSpark: The first source is published by the University of Toronto Press as I'm sure you're aware. The reason why I didn't take that into account is because as shown in the second source, the claims made by affiliated entities generally tend to inflate the relative importance of these discoveries and the role the university played in them. For instance, the second source clarifies that it's not "the gene responsible for early-onset Alzheimer's" as the affiliated source misleading says, but a gene responsible for most cases of early-onset Alzheimer's.

That being said, this is all a digression. While Peter St. George-Hyslop is almost certainly notable, that doesn't mean Tanz CRND inherits notability. It's a key part WP:NORG ((WP:INHERITORG) that organizations don't inherit notability from people working there or who run the entity in question, so I'll bring to AfD.
