CRYSTAL / MERGE

[edit]
The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived.

Even after an attempted clean-up recently, the level of "dream within a dream" speculation here makes Nolan's Inception (or indeed Heller's Catch-22) seem like an Ann and Barry story. Essentially what this article seems to be saying is that, if the DART Underground is built (sometime, at a best estimate, after 2030), an underground station could/maybe/might be built at Christchurch. Otherwise, if the Luas Line F is built (also some time in the nebulous future), a Luas stop may be opened at Christchurch. Both speculations are seemingly mutually exclusive. (As, if the DART Underground is built, Luas line F (if that is built) will terminate 3 miles away at Inchicore). In any event, unless there are other thoughts, I am going to simplify and merge this content into the DART Underground article (possibly in a "proposed stations") section. And redirect this title. I see no value in an article which changes with every new puff of wind (and is, at once, always out-of-date and always speculative). The only value of such a title is as an example of why we have WP:CRYSTAL guidelines.... Guliolopez (talk) 20:12, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As I haven't heard anything back on the above, and unless there are other thoughts, I am proposing to merge the (limited) amount of non-crystal content that is here to the DART Underground#Proposed stations section. And redirecting this title to that section. Per WP:MERGEREASON (In that there is significant overlap in text and context with that article. "If the DART underground is built sometime in the next 20/30 years, then there might be a station on that line serving Christchurch" - if/might/maybe/could-be).  Resolved It has been several weeks since I opened this thread, and a further week since I added the merge/redirect hatnote. As I haven't heard anything to the contrary, I've gone ahead with the merge/redirect proposal. If this station is ever built, then the title can be returned to a standalone article. Otherwise all the article states is that the "station was proposed to be built as part of the proposed DART Underground project, and (as neither are funded or planned) neither yet exist". The article on the DART Underground can (and does) already state the exact same thing. Hence this meets WP:MERGEREASON. Guliolopez (talk) 15:02, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
