Just trying to improve the quality of the article.

The proper name is Cochin Shipyard Limited, and is a limited liability company (LLC). Please make corrections about the company type and ownership.

It would be better if Ship Design and Building activities are also included. From the article posted, it gives out an impression that Cochin Shipyard is a Ship Repair Yard.

Biggest shipyard is Pipavav shipyard

[edit]

Pipavav shipyard is the biggest shipyard in the country with 400,000 DWt manufacturing facility. There is no way that cochin shipyard is the biggest in India. Pipavav shipyard is new. It completed its construction recently compared to cochin shipyard. Before pipavav shipyard, cochin was the largest. So lots of old documents and documeets refered from old contenct will say cocchin as the largest. But this requires an update. Pipavav shipyard got 400,000 DWT facilities meanwhile cochin only got 110,000 DWT. 400,000 is certainly far bigger than 110,000. This is claimed by the original official webistes. https://cochinshipyard.in/sb-facility https://www.skilgroup.co.in/shipyard-offshore-engineering-facilities Essertrave (talk) 15:27, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Essertrave: Pipapav is a 25 year old shipyard, not a new one. The sources I provided are recent Indian govt websites & articles. All the WP:CS for the claim of Cochin Shipyard being the largest are from official Indian Govt websites and credible news portals. Cochin Shipyard being the largest shipyard is even a Question/Answer in both PSC & PEB exams of the Govt. The website skilgroup.co.in is not a credible source, especially when compared to Ministry of Ports, Ministry of Finance sources which say Cochin Shipyard being the largest shipyard in India. Even if you are considering the size of dry dock, the country's largest dry dock is being built at Cochin Shipyard itself. Here's citing a tweet[1] from Nitin Gadkari, the then Minister of Shipping, saying the same. Also the report from PIB[2] Shady59 (talk) 18:33, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So you are saying that pipavav shipyard is not 400,000 DWT. Every artcle related to pipavav says that its 400,000 DWT. So everyone should believe in your claims and reject the entire data that says pipavav is not 400,000 DWT. Show any documents that shows cochin shipyard is bigger than 400000 DWT. I can show you too many articles that says pipavav is the biggest in India. Skilgroup is the official website of pipavav shipyard. Its more credible than anything else. You are a person from cochin who says its not credible because you want to boast. Just saying biggest doesn't make any sense. Show the numbers. There are too many articles that says pipavav is building worlds largest dry dock. Official websites are far more credible than any thing else. You want to boast and show cochin as biggest even tough it is not. cochin shipyard is only 110000 DWT. Show an article that says cochin shipyard is more than 400,000 DWT. Every government and other article says cochin shipyard is only 110000 DWT. It is not even close to 400000 DWt piapavav. Pipavav shipyard upgraded to become worlds biggest recently. They started to upgrade to become the worlds biggest in 2010. See the news. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/industry/transportation/shipping-/-transport/pipavav-to-build-worlds-biggest-dry-dock/articleshow/6030043.cms?from=mdr. So its a new information. They upgraded it recently. But as of now pipavav is 4th biggest in the world. https://www.marineinsight.com/naval-architecture/largest-dry-docks/. cochin is just 110000 and pipavav is 400000. That means claiming 110000 to be biggest in India is totally wrong. https://www.livemint.com/Money/PYpeO3eeLjPUixQIjBLNEL/Pipavav-Shipyard-superior-infrastructure-but-execution-is-k.html. The sources you provide all says cochin shipyard is 110000 DWT. They are totally wrong in saying the biggest shipyard. Tomorrow Vishakapattanam shipyard can claim to be the biggest. But saying that alone make no sense. What is the total capacity of that. Also I have seen your history. You want to boast and show cochin as the biggest in many things. So you intentionally provide wrong things in lots of wiki articles. Wikipedia adminstrators can understand that by seeing your history. https://www.ship-technology.com/uncategorized/news87740-html/ https://www.dnaindia.com/business/report-pipavav-to-open-dry-dock-next-month-1287711 https://www.spsshownews.com/defexpo-india-2012/news/?id=91&h=Pipavav-Shipyard-An-architectural-marvel https://www.spsshownews.com/defexpo-india-2012/news/?id=91&h=Pipavav-Shipyard-An-architectural-marvel https://www.shipyards.gr/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=viewlink&link_id=568&tmpl=component&mapinfo=1&Itemid=27 https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/industry/transportation/shipping-/-transport/pipavav-to-build-worlds-biggest-dry-dock/articleshow/6030043.cms?from=mdr https://www.marineinsight.com/naval-architecture/largest-dry-docks/ https://www.moneylife.in/article/pipavav-shipyard-rnaval-resolution-professional-under-scanner-for-allowing-ineligible-companies-to-participate-in-cirp/66583.html Just claiming the biggest is foolishness. Pipavav also claims to the biggest in India. I can show hundreds of articles that says it. So there is a confusion. So look at the numbers. The numbers says it all. They are from official websites. Saying that official website of pipavav, skilgroup is not a credible source is the biggest foolishness. Its the official website of pipavav. Also every article related to pipavav says that its Indias biggest and got 400000 DWT capacity. Also every article related to cochin shipyard says its only 110000 DWT. Any shipyard can say its the biggest, but what are the numbers. The numbers say it all. I can prove my point in front of any Wikipedia administrator. Both shipyards claim its the biggest. So look at the numbers. The numbers says it all. Essertrave (talk) 05:58, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
