External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Cockatoo, Victoria. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}

Cockatoo Bogan Association
[edit]The section on 'services' included a listing for 'Cockatoo Bogan Association'. A quick Google search finds no evidence of the existence of such a club (the only place on the entire internet it's mentioned is this page), so I concluded the association doesn't exist and is vandalism. I removed the reference accordingly. Many of the articles relating to town in the Dandenong Ranges are peppered with references to 'bogans', and is probably the work of a single vandal.220.244.196.37 (talk) 13:31, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
- The listing was added 5 days ago by an IP from the Department Of Premier And Cabinet (Victoria)/Department of Sustainability & Enivronment [sic]. - SummerPhDv2.0 14:43, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
Wow. Just wow. Does that mean the listing perhaps had some credibility and will be added back?125.254.16.185 (talk) 03:07, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
mayor parameter in Template:Infobox Australian place

Today this article was edited by user 120.21.170.254 where after three attempts the parameter Mayor was added with the name Tony Keach. However the name of the mayor did not display in the article. I changed the parameter to mayor but it still does not seem to work. As far as I can see this is a valid parameter.The article Adelaide (and probably others) also seems to contain this parameter without it being displayed. What am I missing? Fleet Lists (talk) 06:08, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
- "Mayor" is only a valid parameter when the infobox type is "lga". Cockatoo is not an "lga" (short for local government area) and therefore does not have its own Mayor. Cockatoo is part of the Shire of Cardinia of whom the Mayor is Graeme Moore. I would suggest the IP is a vandal looking to add himself or a friend to the article as "Mayor". Hope this helps. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 06:20, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
- I think that's likely and have removed the name again. Thanks. Wham2001 (talk) 06:29, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
- @AussieLegend: Thank You - Sorry I had missed that. But I am concerned that two out of three locations I looked at Adelaide and Darwin, Northern Territory contain dead mayor parameters. I wonder how many more there are. Hopefully AussieLegend can help with that. Fleet Lists (talk) 06:48, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
