Race horse?![edit]

I know nothing about football, neither of horse racing, but I'm fully convinced that the nickname Nijinsky came from the world famous balley dancer Vaslav Nijinsky, as did the name of the (hardly outside the racing circles known) horse! I also would imagine that a skilled football player more easily could be compared to a balley dancer than to a race horse. Vaslav Nijinsky has been dead for sixty yeras, but still people prise their offspring with "oh, you're a real Nijinsky!" when they do some good dancing steps. -Islander(Scandinavia) (talk) 11:17, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Some footballers maybe; and yes the horse was named after the ballet dancer; but Colin Bell was named after the horse. The going was heavy on 1970s football pitches. (Chorleypie (talk) 19:58, 23 October 2013 (UTC))[reply]
