Back rooms

[edit]

Is a real scary and murder zombies and ghost 2A02:C7F:44DC:B100:CC16:FCB8:C22F:82A (talk) 10:24, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The backrooms should have a separate article. It might already have one. It is not a creepypasta, so it would not fit on this page. BlazetheGame (talk) 19:11, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

11 miles ritual

[edit]

I don't know if there is more info about this creepypasta if there is I haven't seen it but I think there should be more info about this. 24.30.145.183 (talk) 18:13, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know too much about it but, I can say the rules - Do not open the window or exit the car AT ANY TIME unless you are done with the ritual. - Do NOT stop the car on purpose, no matter HOW MUCH you want to turn back or stop playing. - NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER turn the radio off, NO MATTER WHAT IT TELLS YOU. - ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DIESEL, PETROL OR GASOLINE. You are very welcome to play this game but do it at your own risk! Kirbycute (talk) 07:41, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-legends are similar to legends except that they seek to purposely subvert the legends of the era by challenging the audience's exceptions of what constitutes a contemporary legend.

Pizzagate, QAnon, and creepypastas -- any connections?

[edit]

This is a reach, I admit, but something tugs at my intuition when I see the term "creepypastas" (and "copypastas") that emerged in the mid-to-late 2000s, and the rise of QAnon's urban myth roughly a decade later about child abuse taking place in the basement of pizza parlours. This fed the further development of what was later termed "Pizzagate".

The bit tying it all together could be ... pasta! Did the terms copypasta and particularly creepypasta generate a focus on Italian food that fed (excuse the pun) the QAnon/Pizzagate trope?

I haven't found any similar discussion on the Internet, so I thought it might be worth addressing here. Kirkers95 (talk) 15:19, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is not much of a focus on food in creepypastas. Like with other examples of horror fiction, the stories depict intentionally disturbing scenarios of bullying, insanity, supernatural creatures, and haunted houses (or oher locations). They are recycling age-old collective fears for the Intenet era. Meanwhile, Pizzagate was reusing elements from the Satanic panic of the 1980s. Basically, a moral panic that there was a vast conspiracy that profited from the sexual exploitatation and the ritual murder of children, and urging the public to take immediate action. The perfect scenario for the creation of lynch mobs which will attack whatever folk devil is available. Some things have not changed since the 1980s. Dimadick (talk) 17:21, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Herobrine

[edit]

I feel like Herobrine fits into the creepypasta category, and he is certainly notable. Should he be mentioned on the page? MonkeyEditsTM (talk) 19:44, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

he's more like a Minecraft CreepyPasta so that's probably why it's not on there. Kirbycute (talk) 07:42, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In the Cultural Impact Section at the end of the last sentence of the 2nd paragraph

"Anti-legends are similar to legends except that they seek to purposely subvert the legends of the era by challenging the audience's exceptions of what constitutes a contemporary legend."

"Exceptions" should be changed to "expectations" Pingmaster7 (talk) 06:06, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
