Numbers don't match

[edit]

"In 2002, a total of 599 crimes were reported in Saudi Arabia, or .06 crimes for every 100,000 people. By 2006 those numbers had gone down with murder at .010 per 100,000 population, sexual offences at .046 per 100,000, and thefts offences at .04 per 100,000." If it went from .06 crimes/100K to 0.01+0.046+0.04 = 0.096 crimes/100K why does it say the numbers went "down"? 212.179.249.110 (talk) 10:56, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It was supposed to be theft rates = 0.004/100,000 rather than 0.04/100,000. It should now add to 0.06/100,000. Simple error.

theft = drug trafficking?

[edit]

I was reading this article's section titled "theft". Now, I know a bit of variation can happen from the topic, but the first paragraph has ONE SENTENCE on theft (Petty theft is a problem especially in crowded areas.) followed by 6 sentences on drug trafficking, money laundering, and drug creation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.80.79.67 (talk) 23:10, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar

[edit]

This entire article needs to be proofread. I made some changes in the last section, but there are still many grammar mistakes making it difficult to consume the article. If I had the time, I would overhaul the majority of the article and start over.

Justification based on one academic article

[edit]

The whole discussion of the criminal justice system is based on one academic article and does not engage at all in the punitive nature of the regime. Someone with knowledge should edit to make this more balanced — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.2.172.65 (talk) 11:36, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
