Daniels (name) → Daniels (surname) – That's the article subject Staszek Lem (talk) 18:51, 24 September 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. Ⓩⓟⓟⓘⓧ Talk 17:59, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose. I see only 3 people with the given name Daniels on WP. It would be better to just add them to this list than to create a separate given names page. Station1 (talk) 07:07, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- There is Daniels (disambiguation) page for them. Staszek Lem (talk) 16:20, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- To the best of my knowledge, none of them is known as simply Daniels, so they would be inappropriate on the dab page. They would either go here or on a separate Daniels (given name) page. Station1 (talk) 16:49, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
- If none of them is known by given name then why we need to list them somewhere is beyond my comprehension, Wikipedia not directory. Staszek Lem (talk) 18:36, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
- I tend to agree. But with a few exceptions like Beethoven and Einstein, I think that applies also to surnames. Station1 (talk) 19:05, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
- Well, not exactly so. Surprisingly often various authors tend to think within their own narrow context and even in Wikipedia I have to jump thru the hoops trying to figure out who the heck was this Count Potocki[clarification needed] whose horse broke the hind leg during the Battle of Berezina.[clarification needed] Staszek Lem (talk) 19:36, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

- Station1, can you add the 3 people you mentioned to this page? Thanks, feminist (talk) 16:51, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- They are Daniels Ontužāns, Daniels Bērziņš, and Daniels Pavļuts. To clarify, I have no particular preference as to whether they are added or not. I was just pointing out that under the current title they could be added by someone. Station1 (talk) 17:39, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- This article lede clearly states that it is about surname. Why do you want to squeeze given name here, beats me. But if you really need to list them somewhere, FYI, "Daniels" is the Latvian-language form of the given name Daniel, and you may put them into List of people named Daniel, which already contains several language variants. - Support per nomination. Standard parenthetical qualifier for surnames. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 00:02, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
