Should Dawn's fanservice about her skirt length be mentioned here? --Coconutfred73 05:09, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- No. Not unless it's been mentioned by any reliable sources. --The Raven's Apprentice (PokéNav|Trainer Card) 14:42, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Does the IGN boards count? --Coconutfred73 19:10, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Nope, check out WP:RS. As a matter of fact, remove anything you find in the article which can't be confirmed by such sources. --The Raven's Apprentice (PokéNav|Trainer Card) 02:55, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Her skirt may be short but it's not considered fanservice unless any undergarment is revealed or its situationally implied (eg gust of wind, etc...). I doubt the animators would do that though. Fox816 23:51, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You haven't been watching the Diamond and Pearl series enough then, have you? We've had black panties already in the Japanese version. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.102.116.184 (talk)
Actually, we've mainly had white. Without the editing, there've been many instances in which Dawn's panties have been shown in the Japanese version: DP068, DP070, and some episode where she falls headfirst into the sand and her skirt comes up to her waist.
dawn never show panties in the japan version, the photos on internet are fake,i saw alla the japanese episode!
- Thanks for the clarification then as I spoke in directness toward just skirt length. I've only seen a few episodes shown on CartoonNetwork and even then there's heavy editing for broadcast. In terms of reference to some apparent fanservice as it's been brought to light, I wouldn't include it unless it's noteworthy- meaning it's either heavy or played upon numerous times- unless that's been done...already?Fox816 23:52, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As long as Dawn doesn't do hand stands, i think she's fine.
It's never stated anywhere in the show or the game that She's 10. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.72.245.138 (talk) 11:59, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Apparently on the official site she's stated as being 10. More specifically she's the same age as Ash whose the same age as May who is 10. Fox816 20:38, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In one of the movies in which May is introduced, the narrator says "May, who just turned 10 years old is starting her pokemon journey". No source, sorry. SpigotMap 23:20, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- May also says that she is ten in Get the Show on the Road.
Just checked the official sites (US & Japanese) and there is no mention of her age anywhere. It's also worth noting that Ash being 10 is only fact for the US version of the anime, as his age is never given in the Japanese version of the anime, or in any of the games.121.72.245.138 13:00, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dawn admitted in the episode Following A Maiden's Voyage that she is 10 years old 76.112.23.57 04:15, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Strange, because I just watched it, and she didn't. It's possible to infer it from the voice over, but it's not nessercarily implied.Winterdenni 04:26, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No Dawn admitted that she is 10 years old because i watched it and she said she is 10 76.112.23.57 04:32, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- The narrator clearly states at the start of her first episode that Dawn has recently had her tenth birthday. --Sonic Mew 16:13, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to change the subject, but Ash keeps changing ages. In the first season he's 10. In the episode when he gets the veridian city badge, he says its been a year scince he came here, making him 11. In the short film, Pikachu and Pichu, Ash says it's the day he and Pikachu met making him 12. But in he Pokemon Advanced season, he's the same age as May, who is 10. How old is he! he can't be 10 still!
- Why is Ash's age being discussed in the talk page for Dawn's article. But to answer your question, it's because the Pokemon anime takes place in a floating timeline, similar to most other animates shows. MelicansMatkin (talk) 01:01, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I guess you're right. The only difference is that Ash looks older, so there is sort of a small hidden timeline. Thanks MelicansMatkin! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.223.101.92 (talk) 03:33, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think it's necessary to state Dawn's Pokemon's genders? Right now, it' obvious that her Buneary and Ambipom are female Pokemon.
I'm not sure about Pachirisu, because it seems to act just like a baby pokemon and the visual difference is very hard to tell. I think Pinplup is likely a male (as 82.5% of pinplups are male) and it acts like a male pokemon, but there was a instance where it was wearing a cheerleader's skirt, so I'm not sure about it.Stevefis (talk) 11:45, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- By carefully looking at Pachirisu's face, it seems pretty clear that it is a male pokemon.Stevefis (talk) 12:00, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Aipom has been confirmed to be female in a Japanese episode. No other genders have been confirmed, and adding the genders in is just speculation. I do not see a need to add in any genders actually; it's too trivial for the article. I'll remove them now. MelicansMatkin (talk) 18:32, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Buneary is obviously a female pokemon for having crush on Ash's Pikachu, which is definitely male Pokemon. Pachirisu is defintely male Pokemon by looking at the forehead, which has larger blue line. Pochama does not have any definite proof though. I don't think gender is too trivial, because each pokemon's character does really seem to depend on their gender. It does not have to be in detail, but I think it's not a bad idea to make a note of it in the article.Stevefis (talk) 21:23, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Personality can be more related to the individual pokemon with obvious influence with gender. Same with human beings, there's a certain general basis on how male and females act and think yet each person is unique in their own way. As far as pokemon are concerned, it's still considered trivial to note gender especially when not explictely stated in the series. Any assumptions made would be considered original research and removed unless you can cite sources to back it up. You should focus more about adding information about Dawn since this is her article. Her pokemon, though still very important, are secondary and shouldn't be fretted over so much. Fox816 (talk) 21:54, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that Ash and Dawn actually trade pokémon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.218.13.211 (talk) 08:11, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I looked up the history of dawn and the most disturbing was codenamed: LOL Wut: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dawn_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29&diff=183535385&oldid=182669463 by 96.233.157.73. While I was looking that up, a person said the online group, the Anonymous: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anonymous_(group) did this. the person who told me this is also part of the anonymous. the article, he says, shows Anonymous icons(ie:pedo bear). he wouldn't tell me what it was so I looked it up. I found out pedo is short for pedophile, so the icon is pedophile bear, and he was really upset I found it out. is this a possible match to the Anonymous group? signed by: Ferrariguy1000 (talk) 16:13, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- =.= --The Last Uchiha 07:33, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Ok, what does that mean? anyway, I know the Anonymous helps and hates at the same time. They actualy do stuff like this, don't they? signed by: Ferrariguy1000 (talk) 04:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do we have proof that dawn will get a swinub? signed by: Ferrariguy1000 (talk) 04:30, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
