Honorary Member of the Royal Academy ?[edit]

I have removed a line that says O'Brien was made an honorary member of the Royal Academy, London in 1912. Now restored.

The line was cited to this page (now archived), one of a group on the "Irish Impressionists". However, the Royal Academy's own site does not name him as an Hon. R.A. [1], nor list him with the other Academicians; and nor do either of the entries for him [2], [3] at the MSBI sculpture project, which usually has quite detailed information about RAs.

It's far from impossible that he was indeed an Hon RA; but without better citations I don't think the line and the categorisation can be left in the article. Jheald (talk) 13:31, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand, the RA archive catalogue has a "Letter from Dermod O'Brien, Hon. R.A." [4]. Perhaps it's conceivable that this was the cataloguer misunderstanding "HRA" = "Hibernian Royal Academy", but on the strength of this I am going to let the original statement stand, at least until there is any further evidence either way.
