Wikiproject Prisons
[edit]If anyone's interested, I've proposed a new wikiproject for the creation and improvement of articles regarding specific prisons, internment camps, and detention centers here. --Cdogsimmons (talk) 02:15, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
"Gladiator School" Label/Neutrality
[edit]I call B.S. DVI is actually not all that violent and is a pretty low-level reception center. The gladiator school label actually originated as a term used for Pelican Bay State Prison[1], where California keeps its most violent and difficult offenders and prison gang leaders. One murder does not make the prison a "gladiator school" when across California, several murders have taken place in other far harder prisons. DVI has a reputation as being an easy prison to work at where most inmates are involved in work programs. I suspect from the tone of this article and the lack of sources, that it may have been written by someone with an agenda. That person could very well be a prison inmate editing this page with a contraband cell phone that has Internet access. Or, it could be an anti-prison activist, many who have been known to overuse the "gladiator school" label when referring to prisons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.8.5.17 (talk) 16:27, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
