About it's location in Singapore

[edit]

Since then, when the channel was launched in 1997, the channel was headquartered in Singapore (which also operated an exclsuive Disney Channel in Malaysia).

Then it was moved to United Kingdom in 2004, leaving Disney Channel Asia operating in Singapore, along with many localized versions with same schedule (focus on local time), such as Disney Channel Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and South Korea, even the Philippines! AZEEM HADZRIE (Talk) 03:06, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, this move occured because Disney noticed this channel was in Europe, and was moved to the United Kingdom in 2004.
Here's the source on why they moved the location, you know the drill [1]. AZEEM HADZRIE (Talk) 08:33, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Plus, they moved to the UK in December 2004. AZEEM HADZRIE (Talk) 08:38, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disney Channel (European, Middle Eastern and African TV channel)Disney Channel (Europe, Middle East and Africa) – I'm citing the RM at Talk:Channel 33 (Israel) and WP:NCBC#Disambiguation as the rationale for this RM; pinging Number 57 to weigh in on this, as he/she did over there. I feel that the DAB is unnecessary since "Disney Channel" has no other composition apart from on TV (video-on-demand and/or streaming just came in or embraced it recently). Intrisit (talk) 13:27, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose per guideline. If you have an issue with the guideline, start a RFC and change it. Gonnym (talk) 16:20, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per the guideline, which explicitly mentions Disney Channel as an example: Where it can be reasonably expected that all of the articles with the same base name will be of the same type, e.g. radio stations named "Fresh FM" or television channels with the name Disney Channel, disambiguation can be done by country and then by state/province or city if necessary (e.g. Fresh FM (Netherlands); Bay FM (Brisbane)). The guideline states that "channel" is only necessary where the title shares a name with unlike topics. As can be seen at Disney Channel (disambiguation), all other Disney Channel articles are on the same type of topic. Number 57 19:03, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support The proposed RM and Number 57's comments correctly read my intention in that section of NCBC when I rewrote it in 2021 (after the Channel 33 (Israel) page move). Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 20:48, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
