In the Atlas of Living Australia, it's been noted as growing in all states except NT, though the major concentrations are in NSW.

I think the reason that the distribution of Diuris maculata is given as including states other than New South Wales, is that it has been confused with Diuris pardina. In the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria website for Diuris pardina, Tim Entwisle notes that D. maculata is endemic to the Central Coast of New South Wales.
