Talk:Domenico Fontana

I changed nationality of Fontana from "Swiss" to "Swiss-born Italian." In the sixteenth century, in fact, Fontana would have been considered to be both Italian and a Swiss, as the Italian state had not yet been invented. It's clear, though, that his primary "national" identity would have been "Italian," despite his birthplace in Ticino.

Pompeii Discovery[edit]

Perhaps I am simply incorrect, but the article for Pompeii clearly indicates that Fontana was the first professional to unearth the destroyed city. If so, I would think that such a discovery would warrant a mention on his personal page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Quaon (talkcontribs) 06:44, 12 June 2011 (UTC) I agree, it should mention that he was the first to rediscover Pompeii. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 21:48, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
