Alamanni queens

[edit]

Any body know any names of the wives of Alamanni kings?--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 23:19, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More than a list?

[edit]

@PamD:

I stumbled quite ignorantly into this after it had become the subject of proposed deletion.

So, although I've done some mechanical work reformatting tables and disambiguating some of the titles, I know nearly nothing about Duchesses, let alone Dukes, of Swabia, or have much of an understanding.

Right now, it's just a list without calling itself List of Duchesses of Swabia, although another editor recently added a lead sentence. This is not and should not be a History of Swabia, but would any editor more familiar with the subject matter be interested in noting what makes each of the notable Duchesses notable? As a guide for the uninitiated, that would also help them click the Duchesses whose lives or genealogy might interest them.—— Shakescene (talk) 23:54, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Shakescene I also spotted it as an AfD. I don't see that it needs much more, except perhaps some clarification about how the first few ladies count as "Duchess of Swabia" given that the Duke of Swabia article starts at 909. Sadly the editor who started the list seems not to be active at present. You could try asking at
As each Duchess is a link to her own article or section, I don't see that this list needs to duplicate the information available there: she is in this list because she is the Duchess, and for other information, follow her link. There are (I find - not my usual territory) umpteen similar lists like Duchess of Normandy and the others in Category:Lists of duchesses.
I've asked for help at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Royalty and Nobility#Duchess of Swabia at AfD - survived but needs attention. PamD 09:49, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
