Wherefore and how come is Elvira Coot "Grandma" Duck not in here? Did Don Rosa omit her? Or is it because she is only a Duck by marriage?Das Baz 15:29, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Phooey is fabulous and fantastic (in every sense of the words). There should be a Phooey Duck fan club, and a scholarly journal devoted to exploring the mystery of Phooey. Does he have name in other languages? In Spanish he should be called Javierito, in Russian Silly, and in Italian Que.Das Baz 15:29, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Whaleofanadventure.jpg
Image:Whaleofanadventure.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merge with Gus Goose and Grandma Duck
Neither Gus Goose nor Grandma Duck are sufficiently independently notable to justify their own articles. As such, they should be merged into this article. Neelix (talk) 18:34, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- Support per my comments at Talk:Scrooge McDuck universe. --LoЯd ۞pεth 00:46, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Entertainment or biology?
- Someone wanted page Duck family to redirect to Anatidae, likely on the grounds that reality is more important than fiction. But page Duck family has many incoming links from Walt Disney characters, so I better leave it like that. But I moved Duck family to Duck family (Disney) to try to do a bit towards satisfying the pro-biology faction. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:03, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Split off Gladstone, Grandma, and Fethry?
I wasn't involved in the decision to merge numerous Donald and Uncle Scrooge supporting characters into a single, vast "Duck Family" article, but the result looks unwieldy.
In particular, Gladstone Gander, Grandma Duck, and Fethry Duck, each having made thousands of appearances, deserve to keep Main Articles to themselves. It's especially odd that they weren't allowed to keep them when Ludwig Von Drake—a less-often-used relative—was allowed to keep his. Ramapith (talk) 04:30, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose - their importance is only within comics. None of them has managed to prove Notability outside the Duck comics and related Disney media. At least, Ludwig has appeared in many more series, in both the Mouse and Duck's universes. --LoЯd ۞pεth 05:28, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
According to the Four Color Comic Edition 0649 "Duck Album", Gladstone Gander has a nephew named "Shamrock Gander". Mind you he bears only a single appearance and small importance. Deltasim (talk) 16:56, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
Italian Cartoonists Love Blonde Hair
I think it's weird the fixation of Italian cartoonists about blonde hair. Gladstone, Grandma, Miss Quackfaster and even Gyro are blonde in Italy. Not to mention those various Italian characters who are originally blonde, such as Brigitta MacBridge, Dickie Duck, Lorraine and Kitty Duckis (neighbors of Grandma), Loretta (Brigitta's niece), Witch Matilda (a niece of Magica), Granny De Spell (Italian version of Magica's grandma), Mimi (Gus Goose's girlfriend), Pandy Pap (an environmentalist), Molly McGold (another Scrooge's romantic interest) and Lorelei (a girlfriend of Gyro). Phew! Well, as far as I know, Duckburg isn't a city of Denmark. I love yellow color a lot, so, please, don't misunderstand me. I'm just pointing out this fact here.Erasurian 15:52, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Della Duck in Robot Chicken
This was recently added to the article:
She Recently appeared in the Robot Chicken episode Some Like it hitman voiced by Mila Kunis. In this sketch, she appears as a prostitute, and was killed off at the end of the sketch. Later in that sketch, Huey, Duey and Louie wondred if they could see their mom again.
Is this really necessary? It seems out of place. Most of the other characters don't seem to have mentions of non-Disney appearances either. JIP | Talk 20:20, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Gustav Goose
In the Dutch Donald Duck weekly magazine Gijs Gans (Gustav) is frequently shown to not be related to the Ducks. He is simply Grandma Duck's farmhand. I have no original source for this on hand though and I don't know if one magazine's difference from standard canon merits acknowledgment here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.239.95.187 (talk) 20:18, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
Fanfic speculation
There is so much fanfic speculation on this page ("Character A may/must/must not be related to Character B" etc. etc.) that I barely know where to start... and every time I fix one entry, I discover more speculation has been added to other entries. It will take *hours* to clean up this page (and I don't have the time). Whoever you are: please stop. Add only the facts, as printed in official comic books/shown in official cartoons etc.! 85.81.82.15 (talk) 19:35, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Daphne Duck
What does Daphne Duck do here? Isn't she Warner Bros. character rather than Disney's? Ivellios1988 (talk) 14:11, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Dexter Duck?
The entry for Dexter Duck states that the character only appeared in one single Duck comic. Since there must be THOUSANDS of characters who only appeared in one single story, why should this one be considered notable enough to be included in Wikipedia? 62.78.230.2 (talk) 21:20, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
Family tree of Duck Family/Family tree of of Donald Duck/Family tree of Clan Duck
Humperdink is listed as being the father of Upsy Duck... Dugan Duck is listed as being Fethry's half-sister's son... All information I have never seen anywhere else. Where does this tree come from? Is it fan speculation?85.81.82.15 (talk) 21:59, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

The Duck Family (Disney) → Duck family (Disney) – Removing "The" per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (definite or indefinite article at beginning of name) and precedent (Category:Families); uncapitalizing "family" Pigby (talk) 15:49, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
- Support, proposed title is direct and to the point, as "Protein family", Simpson family, "Nuclear family", Kennedy family, Vanderbilt family. Gregkaye (talk) 17:01, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Naming conventions. -- Wikipedical (talk) 17:58, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Comment I would be happy to move it myself, but I can't in this case. The page "Duck family (Disney)" already exists because the page was first created there and then someone moved it here. Now it can only be moved by an administrator. And does one letter really matter? Yes. Capitalizing "Family" implies it is part of the name or a title and it's neither. Again, I reference this page. Pigby (talk) 23:38, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Pigby: At this point, I would either wait it out, or request this move on WP:RMTR. This move seems rather uncontroversial to me. Steel1943 (talk) 00:48, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Procedural close since the recent move to Duck Family (Disney) has been reverted. Please refer to the above move discussion currently in progress. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 17:11, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
Duck Family (Disney) → Duck family (Disney) – I know it's nit-picky, but it was requested to move the page to "Duck family (Disney)", not "Duck Family (Disney)". See precedent at Category:Families. Pigby (talk) 22:08, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose Does one letter really matter? Just move it yourself if your that bothered, nobody will mind. Pishpososhpish (talk) 12:29, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Phooey Duck in foreign languages
- In http://www.sullivanet.com/duckburg/phooey.htm (linked to as a ref in the article), links point to 4 comic frames each with 4 nephews in and speech balloon text in foreign languages. That text means:-
- Tita, jag vad hittade i soffan! En tom tub med lustgas!
- Swedish: Tita, what I found in the couch! An empty tube of nitrous oxide!
- En stor galär som tillhört en forntida kejsare ...
- Swedish: A large galley that belonged to an ancient emperor
- come si sta? como - di! fa` prova. Re anche me!
- Italian: how are you? how? You! It doesn`t test. Re me too!
- hej då! och tack för guldet, Joakim! / vi lovar att slösa ordentligt! ha! ha! / grrrr! de gör mej nåstan lika uppretad som du, kalle!
- Swedish: bye! and thanks for the gold, Joakim!/ we promise to waste properly! ha! ha! / grrrr! they make me almost as angry as you, Donald!
Gus and Elvira
How come Gus is mentioned to be Elvira's grandson, when in the family tree drawing they come from different branches altogether? If the family tree drawing is correct, he is her grandnephew.
