Split
[edit]They are two seperate stations so deserve two seperate articles. They are confusing, also, in one article. Simply south 19:44, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Suppport - the Hammersmith stations have separate articles, and they, unlike the Edgware Road stations, are shown as an interchange on the tube map. I propose leaving the sub-surface station at this page, as it is the more important (three lines, terminus of one, interchange, crew change point) and split the Bakerloo Line station to Edgware Road tube station (Bakerloo Line). Obviously the SSL page would have a topline disambig. Thryduulf 21:18, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Support. The two are indeed totally separate stations. David | Talk 21:19, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
No objections so i'm going ahead. Simply south 16:06, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Rename
[edit]Should we rename this article now, as it seems inconsistent to have a qualifier for the Bakerloo Line station, but not one for this station. Clearly Edgware Road tube station (Circle, District and Hammersmith & City Lines) is a bit of a mouthful. I'd suggest that Edgware Road tube station (Metropolitan Railway) would be a good title, as it reflects both the original builders of the station, and the name actually built into the station building. What do you think?. -- chris_j_wood 11:21, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I've heard this station referred to as being both the Circle Line station and the H&C line station. Simply south 12:16, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- See the above section for my thoughts on why I think having no disambig is fine. The station is managed as part of the Circle and Hammersmith & City Lines (one operational unit). If any disambig is needed I think just add (Circle Line), as this is seen by most tourists and I suspect other average users as the more important. Add redirects from (Hammersmith & City Line), (District Line) and combinations. I dislike (Metropolitan Railway) as it is not an intuitive linking, even for those that know the history of the network. Thryduulf 20:49, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Could I just point out that the LU and Wikipedia convention is for LU lines to be XXXX line not XXXX Line so really this ought, at the very least, to be renamed Edgware Road tube station (Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines).Pedantic of Purley (talk) 22:51, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
TFL seem to just call it Edgware Road Circle, cf Edgware Road Bakerloo. Railwayfan2005 (talk) 19:44, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
Sidings
[edit]There is a lot of material about the sidings at Parsons Green station in the page on that location. Should this station's sidings be mentioned too ? 90.192.171.121 (talk) 20:42, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
2009 changes
[edit]There is no mention of the rationale of changing the circle line from a circle to a long line with terminus' in Hammersmith and Edgeware Road in 2009. Could anyone who knows add in some material? Thanks. 165.120.96.157 (talk) 15:19, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
- Details are at Circle line (London Underground)#Extension; they don't really belong in this article. --David Biddulph (talk) 15:23, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
