Response from a Faithful Owner of Ehrgeiz
[edit]I think this game never got enough attention. Sure, it's tough to get used to, but when you do, you'll be slashing a female cop that uses a yo yo instead a gun like no tomorrow! As to the eBay post, it is available. Quite available. Though, it'll cost big time. You see, for a copy without a manual or actual Ehrgeiz case, it's $30. The last time I checked for mint condition, $130 dollars. It's apparently quite rare. However, when I got it in GameStop when they carried PSOne games, it was $7. So, if you can find a copy in a flea market or old game store, buy it there. As for the Zack post, he is an unlockable character, as well as playable. His gameplay mechanics are nearly identical to clouds. His hair is just black. Also, on a personal side note, I found an Ehrgeiz arcade cabinet in fully functional condition at a local "fun palace." just thought it would be cool to mention that. Peace out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.106.51.229 (talk) 20:10, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
I bought this game to play a long while ago. Played it quite a bit. Great game with some fascinating features (the food nutrition system, for example, was very fresh)... except it was the only PSX game which was almost certain to crash. Quest mode -- every 1-6 hours there'd be a crash, losing a lot of data since the save system forced you to spend a lot of time in the dungeon before it'd be pragmatic to come up and save. I imagine this was also why the game didn't make it to "Greatest Hits." With PSX emulators, of course, this is no longer so much of a problem as you can use "save states" to quickly load & save wherever whenever. For owners, it'd probably be in your best interest to rip the PSX game to your hard drive and play using an emulator such as ePSXe or download via a torrent site if you aren't savvy ("TPB" currently has a working seeded copy up: legal for game/PSX owners, at least in the US). It may be worth noting in the article that the game crashed relatively frequently, but I'm hardly a reliable source :x JohnStossel (talk) 21:59, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Quest
[edit]I remember renting this one after it came out. I wasn't impressed with the game at all, but I found that the "new Quest" mini-game bundled with it was actually rather fun. Not exactly plotty, but the game mechanics were deep. If anyone owns it or knows enough I would like to see more information on some of it's features. The gods and alters, nutrition, weapon degrade, and all the other points I missed. I think it even had a pseudo-stock market surrounding wine... Anyway, if anyone knows, Feed the Wiki!
Yeah, this game was awesome. I am trying to re-buy it on [Ebay]. My favorite part is the dungeon thing.
This Article is NOT Encyclopedic
[edit]This article is riddled with reviews that are HEAVY on opinion and subjective critique. It needs to be edited badly. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.168.197.217 (talk) 19:29, 15 April 2007 (UTC).
Fair use rationale for Image:Ehrgeiz Pal.jpg
[edit]Image:Ehrgeiz Pal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Zack
[edit]It claims Zack is a playable character in FFVII, but I have never heard about this before. Sure, stories about Zack can be 'unlocked' rather said found, but not as character.
- I don't see what you're talkin about. Zack is playable in Ehrgeiz, but this article doesn't state that he was playable in FFVII. Technically speaking though, when Cloud narrates his past with Sephiroth he actually replaces Zack with himself, so you are playing through Zack's story as Sephiroth.Adroa (talk) 19:34, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hes a unlockable character I believe, actually according to gamefaqs he is unlocked when you beat the arcade mode with all Final Fantasy Characters. Scroll down to Part 3 and begin reading...

Requested move
[edit]I think the title of this article should be Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring as it's the full name of the game. Ehrgeiz is just a shortening. The Prince (talk) 16:09, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose. I don't know if there's a formal guideline, but we don't usually put in subtitles unless they're necessary for disambiguation. It's Oliver Twist, not Oliver Twist: The Parish Boy's Progress. Tevildo (talk) 23:23, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think that's right. What about for example Super Mario World 2. The fact is that God Bless the Ring is a part of the title, and should be included. See [1] for an example. The Prince (talk) 09:22, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- According to the official website ([2]), the title is just "Ehrgeiz" (eg - "Introducing EHRGEIZ, a title that provides gameplay unlike anything you have ever experienced before", and the text on the front page says "Welcome to Ehrgiez", not "Welcome to Ehrgiez: God Bless the Ring"). "Yoshi's Island" _is_ part of the official title of Super Mario World 2. Tevildo (talk) 12:13, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Here it says "God Bless the Ring". Also, in the IGN link I provided, it says Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring aka Ehrgeiz. Again, Ehrgeiz is only used as a shortening of Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring, which is the complete title of the game. Therefore, it should be under that name. Missing Game Mode
[edit]There is a mini game mode as well as the arcade and quest, that includes a racing mini game and a puzzle mini game.. I don't have a copy on me but I wanted to toss that out and hopefully a editor will be able to locate the proper information.. 209.253.20.25 (talk) 21:21, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Final Fantasy characters in arcade version
[edit]There are at least three Final Fantasy characters in the arcade version. I haven't seen an arcade cabinet of this game in many years, so I'm not sure whether all of them are included. The arcade version has at least Cloud, Tifa and Sephiroth as playable characters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.187.217.105 (talk) 23:31, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
I once worked at a place that had this arcade game, and I am positive that it at least had Cloud Strife as a playable character, but I am not sure if he was a time release character, a rom update, or an unlockable character. I do know that he was selectable on the normal player screen at the time I worked there. I don't remember any other FFVII characters being in our arcade version. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.180.255.252 (talk) 21:26, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Small Change
[edit]Hello, i am going to make a small change, at the start of the article its mentioned that it would be noteworthy that Final Fantasy characters are in the Playstation version.
Thats misleading since the 3 characters Tifa, Cloud and Sephiroth were in the arcade version as well. greets, gbk —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.245.21.221 (talk) 20:29, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
I also took out "The PlayStation disc version of the game is now a rare item due to it not making the Greatest Hits list and not being re-released. "
I guess "rare" is a definition but a game which can be bought from over 20 ebayshops at ebay.com for prices under 10 dollars cant really be called "rare"
