Enis or Ennis?
[edit]His imdb profile states Ennis Esmer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Justinz84 (talk • contribs) 13:58, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- This living person appears to be listed everywhere else as 'Ennis', but has an article name of Enis here, could someone clarify whether this is correct or not and move if necessary? It was moved by the author some time ago and doesn't seem to have been mentioned here before. Noom talk contribs 18:18, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, at the time I first created the article he was getting credited by both spellings in different sources, although the official ones (like the websites of his own TV shows, stuff he'd actually written himself, etc.) were using Enis — but it's now the case that he seems to get credited as Ennis consistently. Enis with one n is a fairly standard and common men's name in Turkey, but in a North American context it looks odd (and somewhat liable to be mispronounced) compared to the much more normal-in-English Ennis — so my best guess would be that his real name is spelled with one n, but at some point he decided to use the two-n spelling professionally. So no objection to the page move here — although I do wonder why nobody asked me about it at the time. Bearcat (talk) 01:27, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
