White space

[edit]

Why is there such a large block of white space at the top of this article? I thought it was due to a hidden comment about the fair use rationale for the image, but removing it didn't seem to make a difference. Can anyone work it out? Robofish (talk) 16:36, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Vice-chancellor-2011.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Vice-chancellor-2011.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: All Wikipedia files with unknown copyright status

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

Edits from the University

[edit]

Hello, University. It's generally not the best idea to edit articles about one's own organisation as this can lead to problems of neutrality of viewpoint and independence of content. If someone is famous enough to need a Wikipedia article, others will write about them. If you feel you absolutely must, then please be particularly careful about image use since the new image you uploaded did not fit with Wikipedia licensing policies, and almost got the old image deleted!
