I have removed the notability complaint template from the article. The ETC file format is now a part of the Khronos group's WebGL and OpenGL-ES graphics standards - which means that practically every smartphone on the planet uses ETC texture compression - and shortly, most of the world's web browsers will also use it. It is without doubt notable! Now all we need is a decent article to be written about it. SteveBaker (talk) 19:23, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Today I saw that Google announced a faster ETC2 compression tool.
