Recordings

[edit]

The section on MacMillan's recordings needs to be extensively revised. He only recorded four of Holst's "The Planets" (Mars, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter) not the complete suite, on four RCA Victor 78s (Catalogue Set No. M.929). He recorded four of Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance" Marches, Nos 1, 2, 3 and 4, not just No. 2 as stated (RCA Victor Set M.911). He also recorded three movements from Gordon Jacob's "William Byrd Suite" (RCA Victor 78s 11-8725/6 with Haydn's "Serenade" on the 4th side) yet this is not mentioned. The 'Camden' LP of the Tchaikovsky 5th Symphony was Catalogue No. CAL-374.
