I've added a new section, detailing all I could find out about the 1946 78rpm album. (my interest: I have linked to this page from the Billie Holiday discography because there it is listed as one of her albums). Much of the info came from this book: Bernstein Meets Broadway: Collaborative Art in a Time of War, Carol J. Oja, 2014, available online through Google Books. It is all about Fancy Free and On The Town. As the existing article so far is rather thin, I might suggest others use this same source for more detailed info on the history of the ballet, and the music itself, to flesh out the entry. I don't know enough about Bernstein to do so, but pg 36 in particular, and others immed before and after, analyse the musical forms and Bernstein's inspiration from contemporary jazz.
