Field day/days
[edit]It should be added that the events are sometimes referred to as "Field days" depending on how long the event is scheduled to take place. Some are held over long weekends for example.--Sting Buzz Me... 01:32, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Not just Australia
[edit]- http://www.hpj.com/archives/2005/jun05/jun13/AnnualOvertonhorticulturefi.CFM - we may need to think about structuring the article to cater for other than Australian events --Matilda talk 23:02, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Dab page
[edit]Currently the article has a {{tl:globalize}} tag and four links to similar pages. I have attempted to create a dab page but my efforts were reverted. The article needs improvement and splitting is the best option. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 08:32, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- The article's history needs to be moved with it which can now only be done by an Admin. Bidgee (talk) 08:47, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- So where does the article history go? -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 08:53, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- If you had of used the move tab above on the article and talk page the content and history would have been moved together, Now the other page will need to be deleted by an Admin then moved. Bidgee (talk) 08:56, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- It needed a split not a move. Where do you think it should have been moved to? -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 08:59, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure a split was warranted. The article could perhaps be moved (with edit history) to Field day (agriculture). I don't see there is any need for separate national articles at this point. older ≠ wiser 03:51, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- Since there is a lot of info about Aussie I want to avoid systemic bias in Field day (agriculture). -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 07:24, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
- That is an atypical way of growing articles. Generally, it is best to keep related topics on a single article and split only when they have grown to such an extant that multiple articles are feasible. The stub you created at at Field day (agriculture) clumsily duplicates much of what was in the version of Field day (Australia) that you split out. That redundancy make it more difficult to maintain the content in that general improvements might be made to the duplicated material that are not carried over to the other. Second, although there is some mention made of Field Days in New Zealand, is there evidence that Field Days are common anywhere else? If not, the complaint that the article is too focused on Australia is misguided. I'd suggest waiting for the verifiable content to materialize before creating some artificial divisions based on a presumption of bias. older ≠ wiser 11:48, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
