TNT - NBA Playoffs
[edit]Somebody should add something about how their song is being used as TNT's NBA Playoff theme.
- Maybe in a Trivia list or something, but otherwise no, I wouldn't say it's worth mentioning.--Foot Dragoon 20:03, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
6?
[edit]There are 6 tracks in the "5 Track Sampler." What gives? --realwingus 07:12, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
- i fixed it --Amr Hassan 07:41, 1 September 2005 (UTC)
Merging with Rising Tied
[edit]i see there's a lot of data that should be on the two articles and i just don't feel right copying them from one to the other.. how about merging??--Amr Hassan 01:45, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
- I already did the merging, so if anyone notices something weird about the consequence of the the lines, please do fix it. --Amr Hassan 09:04, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
- I think some info should be removed from this article and moved to the Rising Tied article. This article has better information on the album than the actual album's article.Thiseye 00:05, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Rework might be needed
[edit]This article seems to me like it needs a little bit of reworking, because it doesn't quite seem encyclopedic. Anyone want to comment? --JB Adder | Talk 02:52, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
- Yup. It reads like a press release. chocolateboy 00:21, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
- Definitely. It definitely needs a re-work. It does sound like a press release (i.e. what's with the use of first names? "Mike's..."). It does not match the style of most articles, especially featured articles. Stiles 22:25, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yea, good idea. Also, I'd like to see some more mention of some of the content of the music, linking to the political events and such that are referenced. Klepas 09:09, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Extra DVD Probs
[edit]Hey did any 1 have probs with the dvd as there is no petrified video as promesed. (on the sticker it said it said believe me video and the making for that.) --219.88.47.249 06:04, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- stick your music cd into the comp. its enhanced and the petrified vid its there.
- This an encyclopedia, not a messageboard. Please see the artist's official website if you want to discuss his music. Again, this is an encyclopedia. Stiles 22:25, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
"Weak sales"?
[edit]The article says it has "weak sales," but I've been hearing that it wasn't intended to be a highly publicized "Top 40"-ish album. I'll admit I don't know for certain, but I just thought I'd throw out there that maybe they weren't going to high sales. And if that's the case, the term "weak sales" would be misleading, making it seem like the album flopped and failed to meet expectations.
- I agree and will be taking that part out of the article. Just because it wasn't initially a big seller doesn't mean that it cannot do well, especially now that Where'd You Go is picking up in popularity. --SayCheese 21:42, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- I guess it's nice you're removing it and all, but that's not actually what I meant at all. It's just that from what I've heard, it sounds like they were deliberately leaning a little more towards the underground side, meaning they weren't going for chart-topping sales in the first place. Yeah, I don't actually know for sure and I don't have time to look into it right now, but I figured I'd throw that out there. And from my personal experience, it does in fact look like The Rising Tied is pretty popular amongst non-mainstream hip-hop fans.--Foot Dragoon 02:48, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- I see what you mean and you make a good point. Since the way it was worded made it look like low figures was parallel with failure was the main reason why I removed it, especially since that is only sales for the United States and the number is outdated. --SayCheese 01:46, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Official iTunes data
[edit]Someone needs to find the official iTunes statistics to support the statement about the most popular hip-hop album. I know this is true, I saw it somewhere, but can't recall now. If anyone has any info on it, please bring it and edit the line. --Rake 03:45, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]Does anybody else think that the picture should be changed? Fort Minor is more than JUST Mike Shinoda... (71.248.84.105 07:54, 14 July 2006 (UTC))
- Actually, from what I've seen of the default artists listed when I rip the songs off the CD, it seems like Fort Minor actually does refer to Mike Shinoda himself. I could be wrong, but the fact that songs like Red to Black are listed as being by "Fort Minor/Styles of Beyond/Kenna" leads me to believe that Fort Minor is in fact just Mike Shinoda.--Foot Dragoon 01:14, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
fan club
[edit]Is the name of his fanclub probably inspired by Metallica's "Metal Militia"? Egr, 6/7/2006
- Unknown. I doubt it, but you'd have to ask him yourself. Jay 21:14, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
to all the people who think that fort minor is just mike shinoda. do some research, mike says that he called it fort minor because he didnt want to put his name on it for one reason because it wasnt only him it was only possible because of the many other artists involved in creating these tracks.
- You have to realize that Mike Shinoda is pretty much the only common denominator in "Fort Minor". True, Fort Minor is officially referring to the project itself according to Shinoda, but for all intents and purposes, it's basically just Shinoda himself. Any other artist featured in a track, including Styles of Beyond, is separately listed as having collaborated in it rather than just having "Fort Minor" slapped onto every track. Not to mention Mike Shinoda's name is also completely absent and the tracks that have only him are just labeled as by "Fort Minor". --Foot Dragoon 06:26, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- The problem is that Mike Shinoda=one of the members of Linkin Park(=Chester Bennington). -- Egr, 10/21/2006
"Music"
[edit]Shinoda's goal for the project was to create music while having fun with his friends rather than to showcase the hottest names in hip hop.
"It's called Fort Minor, instead of my name because there are a bunch of other people involved in the project. But I only wanted to work with family and friends; people that I feel are really close to me and we see eye-to-eye." -- Mike Shinoda, BallerStatus.
The music does not focus on material wealth, which often saturates mainstream hip hop, and instead focuses on real-life issues.
This whole little blurb just needs to be...changed. Maybe you could keep the quote by Shinoda somewhere, but I think everything else just needs to go. Especially that bit about how the music "does not focus on material wealth" and "focuses on real-life issues." But admittedly, I'm not really sure on where to start in terms of "filling the void."--Foot Dragoon 10:05, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
The video for "Kenji" that was submitted wasn't an official video, just a bunch of pictures. I removed it.
Who did this?
[edit]"Thus far, Fort Minor has released one album, 2005's The Rising Of The Infamous Tied."
It's The Rising Tied, not The Rising of The Infamous Tied. That needs to go.
This person was clearly not a Fort Minor fan. Utkarsh Rastogi (talk) 10:51, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Trivia OUT?
[edit]The trivia section looks more like newpaper cutting than, well, trivia. And anyways it is Trivia, so should I delete that part? Utkarsh Rastogi (talk) 10:52, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Don't delete it. Incorporate what you can into the article, then delete what you put in the article out of the Trivia section. Trivia sections aren't recommended, but if they've got good info, which this one does, then they shouldn't just be removed, unless the info is placed elsewhere in the article. Transformers
[edit]Watching Transformers and just noticed when the autobots first get together and Optimus introduces Bumblebee, on bumblebee's radio a small extract of 'Second To None' By fort Minor is played, Should this be Included in the Trivia or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.31.65.41 (talk) 19:48, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Fort Minor Militia EP
[edit]I am so bugged out by this mysterium. The Official fanclub of Fort Minor is called Fort Minor Militia. But what the hell is this EP/Album floating around called Fort Minor Militia EP?! I can't find any official proof of its existence, but the strange thing is that it has some exclusive tracks that I can't seem to place in any single, album or mixtape related to Fort Minor nor even Linkin Park.
A torrent i found, called Fort Minor Militia EP have this, odd, tracklist (note the missing numbers):
- 01. Do What We Did
- 02. Where'd You Go (PRYDE Remix)
- 03. Where'd You Go (S.O.B. Remix)
- 04. Move On
- 05. Kenji (Interview Version)
- 06. Strange Things
- 07. Belive Me (Remix)
- 08. Where You Joe
- 09. Tools Of The Trade
- 11. Start It All Up
- 14. Petrified (Los Angeles Remix)
But Last FM's tracklist of the EP is very different.
Then there's these articles about the subject:
- Fort Minor Militia EP, Music Wiki
- Fort Minor Militia EP, Linkin Park Wiki
The artwork frequently used for the album comes from the Fort Minor Militia Year One Fan Pack, and what that DVD from which the image is taken from actually contains can be seen on this image. Now, the big question is; Where do these tracks, such as the demo tracks and Kenji (Interview version) come from', since the Militia EP seems to be "fake". Are they even licensed? Are they leaked? Where they released as Free Downloads, or only available on Myspace, or something? Torr3 (talk) 21:42, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- I figured it all out and added it to the article.Torr3 (talk) 01:50, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Fort Minor - Perfect Tide (Blend Remix Album)
[edit]Aaaaand what's this?
back — Preceding unsigned comment added by Torr3 (talk • contribs) 23:17, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
Fort Minor is a solo_singer
[edit]The only member is Sir. Mike Shinoda. So it should be a solo_singer like Jay_Z and not a group! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chopra.nitin96 (talk • contribs) 06:15, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
"Where'd You Go" video
[edit]When was it released actually? The article says In November 2006, Fort Minor released a video for "Where'd You Go." However, the music videos section says that it was released on May 29, 2006. Which one if any is correct? --Stryn (talk) 17:26, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Where'd You Go ranking?
[edit]What is the correct highest ranking on Billboard Hot 100, 4 or 12? Per Billboard.com it's 12, and per Allmusic.com it's 4. I would say it's 12 then because of Billboard. --Stryn (talk) 07:52, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Formation
[edit]"Mike Shinoda joined Fort Minor as a vocalist." This is the first sentence of the article for the formation section. However, it only later states that Fort Minor was a collaboration between himself and Styles of Beyond. This was rather confusing to me when I read the article, and I'd suggest that it reads:
"Shinoda joined underground hip hop band Styles of Beyond made up of Ryan Patrick Maginn (Ryu) and Takbir Bashir (Tak) to form Fort Minor."
or similar. As I don't edit many music articles, I thought I'd ask first. Please let me know if this is a good wording Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:17, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Fort Minor was vs. Fort Minor is
[edit]I don't want to get into an edit war, but I don't think we can say "Fort Minor was" in the intro. Mike has not disbanded Fort Minor. It is a side project so naturally there will be some time between releases. K2323 (talk • contribs) 14:30, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
