"to have coached a World Champion both with figures (Fratianne) and without (Kwan)"[edit]

What does "figures" me in this sense? Please clarify in the article. :) Janet13 19:28, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Compulsory figures. Fratianne won Worlds when figures were still part of the competition. Kwan did not. Kolindigo 03:55, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I took the liberty of disambiguating the reading text as well. :) Janet13 05:46, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Frank Carroll[edit]

I think Frank Carroll (Francis M. Carroll?) was born in March 1939 but I'm not 100% sure. He's 71 in February 2010 which as User:Kolindigo edited in, means he's either 71 or 72 in 2010, meaning born in 1939 or 1938. Looking up on one of the databases, it shows a "Francis M. Carroll", born in March 1939, and living in Palm Springs, California where Frank Carroll, the skating coach, has a home. But one can't quote that database. I can't find easily any other mention elsewhere. But I'm still checking. He is a 1960 alumnus of College of the Holy Cross, verifiably so, which I added to the article with a footnote to the NYT article stating so (also see List of College of the Holy Cross alumni). --- Wikiklrsc (talk) 23:13, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moving this out of talk pages: according to http://hc1960.org/dirCarCar.pdf, he is, if not that Francis M. Carroll, a "Francis M. Carroll". I'm poking around LexisNexis and Google's news archive to see if I can find anything relevant. Kolindigo (talk) 04:24, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent! Thanks for your kind help! I continue to look too. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 19:02, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
