Question mark in birth date

[edit]

I had put a question mark after the 1834 in McCoppin's birth date. During his mayoral term, it was discovered that he had lied about his date and place of birth (Evening Bulletin, July 10, 1869 quoted in Heintz, San Francisco's Mayors, 64).

Has any evidence surfaced to substantiate his date birth since Heintz's book was published in 1975?
