Founder of the FDP?

[edit]

The article states "After World War II, he founded the Freie Demokratische Partei (trans. "Free Democratic Party") affiliated with ideology of classical liberalism in Berlin.", and cites a source, a Banat biographical dictionary. While the source would generally be considered reliable, and does assert this about the founding of the FDP, I am concerned to discover that Kappus is not mentioned at all in the articles about the FDP in either English or German, nor does German Wikipedia mention the FDP in its article about Kappus. I have looked at the FDP's own Web site, but it does not seem to have a history section.

I suggest someone with better access to sources about the FDP's history review the assertion that Kappus founded the FDP. It seems to me it was at the very least a joint founding with others. Ijon (talk) 21:38, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected it using a more reliable source, which BTW also mentions reports that that founding assembly was attended "exclusively by people from Wilmersdorf because of the lack of transportation", perhaps an indication that not every member of that group was (or would become) a towering titan of German politics.
