The result of the move request was: Moved to Frisk Asker Ishockey. R'n'B (call me Russ) 18:36, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Frisk Tigers → Frisk Asker — This is the official name of the club as of September 2010. The target page already exists as a redirect, but has been edited. --Léman (talk) 21:35, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Just some input: I reckon the official name of the section (this is a section of a sports club) is still "IF Frisk Asker - Ishockey", as it says in the article. But the official common name might well be different. Or? Geschichte (talk) 19:51, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
- A move to Frisk Asker, would be problematic as this is the name of the sports club, IF Frisk Asker, and hence all of their sporting departments. Frisk Asker is therefore best served as a redirect to the sports club. Since their association football department is called Frisk Asker Fotball, and the official name of the ice hockey department is "IF Frisk Asker - Ishockey" (as Geschichte says), I suggest we move this article to Frisk Asker Ishockey. It will comply with Vålerenga Ishockey, Manglerud Star Ishockey, Furuset Ishockey, as well as the Norwegian article on the Frisk Asker ice hockey team. lil2mas (talk) 22:24, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
- My suggestion was based on this section at Frisk Asker's website: http://prosjekt.esite.no/frisk/Grafisk-identitet2. I presume the official name then has been changed from "IF Frisk Asker - Ishockey" to simply "Frisk Asker". This article in Aftenposten suggests the same. However, if moving the page to Frisk Asker Ishockey makes it easier to tell the hockey department apart from the sports club, then I'm all for it. --Léman (talk) 17:39, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- Their name is still "Frisk Asker, IF - Ishockey" according to speaker.no, which is the official result provider of Norges Idrettsforbund. But I'm aware that they have changed their profile name to solely "Frisk Asker", like they had "Frisk Tigers" before. The problem is, as I explained earlier, that Frisk Asker will end up as a disambiguation page. We are therefore left with moving it to Frisk Asker Ishockey. Would like to get some feedback from Geschichte, before we move ;) lil2mas (talk) 18:33, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with you, lil2mas. Geschichte (talk) 19:31, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

- The WP:COMMONNAME seems to be 'Frisk Asker', after checking three random, relevant newspapers, although Budstikka (the local newspaper) uses only the term 'Frisk'. As for disambiguation, most sports teams in Norway are already located at disambig pages, so I don't see this as a major problem (see for instance Viking, Vålerenga, Rosenborg etc). I would personally prefer 'Frisk Asker Ishockey', which seems to be along the line of for instance Vålerenga Fotball and Skeid Fotball. This isn't a topic I'm very comfortable with, so I may have overlooked something obvious. Arsenikk (talk) 20:16, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- Has their named changed? Are they no longer considered the Frisk Tigers anymore? That is what they have been called in English press in the past, as such that is the name it should be. Their English common name. -DJSasso (talk) 22:38, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, according to their own website, they changed their name on 4 September 2010. On the English sports website, Pointstreak.com, the change has been reflected. That site is also the official statistics provider of GET-ligaen. I couldn't find any English news articles using Frisk Tigers after the name change, other than articles about Mats Zuccarello Aasen, which played in the club when it was called Frisk Tigers. If you find substantial English news coverage the last 8 months, with the name still being Frisk Tigers, I would oppose the name change. Otherwise, I would have moved it to Frisk Asker Ishockey. lil2mas (talk) 15:13, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Alright I am good with the change then. I just wanted to make sure this was a name change, and not just a change on wikipedia itself. -DJSasso (talk) 15:28, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
