Autobiography, and indidea blog and e foundation site as sources?

[edit]

FYI, It is now clear this article has been significantly edited by a sockpuppet User:Caliwing of User:Indidea (both now blocked), who are close to (or actually are) Gael Duval. Should his blog and foundation website be referenced so many times (4?)? Put another way, should this article essentially be an autobiography? -- Yae4 (talk) 15:02, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

-- Hi Kstone999 , Newslinger Please can you help validated this article or loop in those who can help this article get an unbiased view. Mnair69 (talk) 01:00, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The cleanup tags in this article are excessive, especially since some of them have overlapping scopes. Articles rarely have more than 4 cleanup tags, and adding too many ("tag bombing") is generally discouraged. I've removed all but 3 of the tags. As for the content, I've added the word privacy-oriented to better describe /e/ (operating system). — Newslinger talk 02:44, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
~ I'm tempted to cleanup the article but it would barely leave anything but a few short sentences. It looks like a WP:BLP1E case of WP:LOWPROFILE and appears as a WP:RESUME that simply outlines his professional history without any significant coverage. On top of that there's trivial unsourced content about his other companies. I removed the TGDaily link from external links and added it as a ref, although the link itself is WP:NOTRELIABLE. — Kstone999 (talk) 11:01, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removing unnecessary/outdated tags

[edit]

  • What I think should be changed: Since the issues have in my opinion been resolved I´d suggest to removing the following tags:

This article is an autobiography or has been extensively edited by the subject or by someone connected to the subject. (October 2019)

This biography of a living person needs additional citations for verification. (October 2019)

This biography of a living person relies too much on references to primary sources. (October 2019)

  • Why it should be changed:

All tags have been set about 4 years ago and the page has significantly improved. Detail:

1. Autobiography: Page statistics indicate that the article was edited and mutually reviewed by about 10 authors 2. Sources/References: Sources have been widely improved and there is no unusual dominance of primary sources.

References

no Declined The article still relies on primary sources, specifically, an interview with François Bancilhon, as well as the personal blog of the subject. That justifies 2 of the maintenance tags. The COI editor has also recently edited the page, which justifies the third maintenance tag. Regards,  Spintendo  16:25, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
