Question[edit]

The article says: "in May 1917 [he] was made Fahnenjunker of the 16th Bavarian Infantry Regiment". Was that the same regiment as Adolf Hitler? If it was, it should be added. Jonas Vinther (talk) 12:44, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's not clear from German Wikipedia. Hitler joined the 16th ("List's Own") Royal Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment; its German Wiki article mentions various notables but not Himmler. There was also a regular 16th ("Grand Duke Ferdinand of Toskana's Own") Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment. --Bermicourt (talk) 16:43, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps @Bermicourt: could deduce it from the German Wikipedia... Gebhard joined the reserve battalion of the 16th Bavarian Infantry Regiment in Passau, which must mean this, I think: de:Königlich Bayerisches 16. Infanterie-Regiment „Großherzog Ferdinand von Toskana“.Hoops gza (talk) 23:33, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
