This article needs some structure

[edit]

It's time for this article to be broken up into sections treating the different stages of Robinson's life. I am going to split it into three parts for now - his life in England, Van Diemens Land and time as protector in Victoria. I think there are more, (where did he go after he finished being protector?) but that will get things going in the right direction. Bob.firth 09:29, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birth year

[edit]

What is the correct birth year for Robinson? some sources list it as 1791 (as it is currently in this article), others list it as 1788 (e.g. http://investigator.records.nsw.gov.au/Details/Person_Detail.asp?Id=156 and Through Their Eyes by Lakic and Wrench). Does anyone have any authoritative information on this? Should this confusion be mentioned in the article?
