Infobox

[edit]

IMHO, the PC leader infobox isn't necessary, as we've got a PC leaders navbox. The practice of 'navbox-only' for PEI party leader positions, is already well established. GoodDay (talk) 22:24, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Political party leaderships are routinely included in the infobox everywhere else in Canada — it's included in the infoboxes of federal party leaders, and in the infoboxes of provincial party leaders in all other provinces — and because each province does not get to make up its own special "infobox content" rules for its own politicians, "established practice" for PEI political party leaders does not get to be different from the established practice for political party leaders anywhere else in Canada. And as I've noted on your talk page, the navbox provides the succession of leaders' names, but fails to provide the specific dates during which any individual held the position. So while a navbox is valuable and important, it doesn't cover all of the relevant information in a way that would allow it to replace inclusion in the infobox. Well then add these to all the PEI party leaders bios. We can't have Key sticking out like a sore thumb. GoodDay (talk) 22:47, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The dates have to be included in an "at a glance" summary location, in exactly the same way as the dates of "Mayor of Summerside" or "MP for Cardigan" or "MLA for 1st Kings" would be. So the fact that they're present in the body of the article does not negate inclusion in the infobox, any more than it would for any other relevant political position. And as important as consistency is, it's not my responsibility to immediately undertake a project of adding it to every political party leader's infobox right now — any Wikipedian can do so at any time, and I'm under no special obligation to immediately make a personal priority of it. Especially when you're the one who's often removed it when it's been added to the infoboxes in the past. Bearcat (talk) 23:04, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as the other provinces have 'party leader' included in their bios, I've begun doing the same for the PEI provincial party leaders. I likely won't finish them all, until tomorrow. GoodDay (talk) 23:07, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
