Early Life - ancestry
[edit]Gerard tweeted on May 5, 2013 that he is a large percent Japanese, Spanish, and Scottish as well as small parts French and Finnish. He also stated he is not actually Italian. 2001:48F8:9013:F2:F0EC:87FE:4A3D:D521 (talk) 04:39, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

At the bottom of the Music section can somebody add that Gerard Way contributed screamed vocals to the song Rōnin, released in March 28, 2022 by the black metal band Ibaraki? Source: https://www.nme.com/news/music/triviums-matt-heafy-shares-new-ibaraki-single-ronin-featuring-gerard-way-3191688
(Note: the above is not an April fools joke, Ibaraki is Trivium frontman Matt Heart’s black metal project) 2604:2D80:9801:E900:E0B8:C995:2526:95E4 (talk) 20:32, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

Updated image?
[edit]Is it possible to update the main image with one from the reunion tour? 2A02:C7F:40D3:A900:8DD4:85A:33A3:3D3A (talk) 02:53, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- I agree! Gerard looks different than he did in 2019 and I think a newer photo would be more accurate. Skierstonks25 (talk) 05:30, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
please do idk how to edit or get someone to edit it but it has GOT to be changed especially now that hes lost weight and is back in business again, man deserves to have a more current and flattering picture up here Dtcalles (talk) 19:49, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
- literally Skierstonks25 (talk) 22:27, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Dtcalles @Skierstonks25 Unfortunately most photos that are available have license restrictions that make them unsuitable for Wikipedia - you can read more in Wikipedia's Image Use Policy, but in short, they have to be public domain or something like CC-BY-SA - critically, they cannot have restrictions on commercial use, which most of the photos that are cc-licensed do. I just looked through Flickr and Google Images and didn't find any suitable photos that are freely licensed and more recent than the ones we're already using.
- If you know of recent photos that have free licenses, or know of suitable photos taken by someone who might be willing to release a photo under CC-BY-SA, please do let us know! We would LOVE to have a more recent photo, but unfortunately most photographers place restrictions on their photos, which makes it difficult to find one that Wikipedia can use. The Human Spellchecker (talk) 21:38, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- I have some photos you can have for free. Please let me know how to send them to you. I took them myself so there are no restrictions and I don’t care to license or sell them. 67.87.221.89 (talk) 20:59, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

To change the main image to Gerard in 2022 Belindalauren (talk) 01:31, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
- Not done: please be specific about the changes to be made to the article. I assume you're referring to this image, which would probably be more appropriate in the Music career section rather than in the infobox. It is also nominated for deletion on Commons as a result of licensing issues, so I will not add it at this time. PlanetJuice (talk • contribs) 02:28, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

Change his pic. His picture is so bad and he doesn't look like that anymore just saying it's jarring and not really too accurate anymore 2601:3C7:4200:DBD0:578:D7B5:1FB7:B7BF (talk) 05:02, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

- Not done. We use this picture because there is no newer freely-licensed image on Wikimedia Commons yet. If you know of a picture that fits our licensing policy, file another edit request. ◢ Ganbaruby! (talk) 09:22, 12 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]They aren’t for sale and not licensed. They’re mine and much better and true to his current image than that old photo. Please let me know how to send them to you for use. Gerard deserves better than this terrible pic! 67.87.221.89 (talk) 21:00, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

The date for when Gerard released “Baby you’re a haunted house” is incorrect. He released it on October 26th 2018 not the 28th. Source:Check the upload date of the YouTube video as well as the iTunes release and Spotify pageSeanwalty25 (talk) 17:50, 26 May 2024 (UTC) Seanwalty25 (talk) 17:50, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
Done To be clear, neither YouTube, iTunes, or Spotify really count as good sources. That said, however, the ACTUAL sources cited in the article give the October 26th date, so done. PianoDan (talk) 17:08, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

- The photo from Dallas that was uploaded was copyrighted and didn't have permission to be used on Wiki. I'm trying to get a better image now but it's not easy due to the guidelines around copyright and content. 2603:9001:6900:4B38:8C0:8010:9E83:7ACC (talk) 00:42, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
