I'm not sure why this has been tagged as a neologism. The terms "ghetto latte" and "poor man's latte" have been around for years. This is a valid entry and the tag should be removed. Wakablogger2 (talk) 20:09, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This should really be moved to the dictionary, and what is "pirate style" anyhow? 71.230.124.112 (talk) 21:20, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: Merged to Latte#Iced latte. It is up to editor consensus how to word the new section in the Latte article. I also created a redirect from Bootleg latte to the same target. EdJohnston (talk) 03:40, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ghetto latteBootleg latte – Not directly related to ghettos or minority groups. "Bootleg" is a more precise description and carries less social baggage. Ibadibam (talk) 18:41, 14 May 2014 (UTC) Ibadibam (talk) 18:41, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment as nominator - Also, as long as we're discussing this article, is there any sense in just merging this into latte, since the topic has had little coverage outside of one media blitz in fall 2006 and is unlikely to be expanded? Ibadibam (talk) 18:41, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support a merge into latte and changing the name to bootleg latte. I've spent a lot of time in coffeehouses and I've never heard this term before. I doubt it is commonly used. It is trivia more than anything else and I don't think it is notable enough to have an entire article devoted to it. Liz Read! Talk! 21:27, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support a merge to latte as well. It doesn't look like notability could be established for any of the various names that this drink goes by on their own. This article would need to be trimmed per WP:UNDUE as part of the merge, but I don't see that as a major obstacle. --Ahecht (TALK

    • I created an Iced latte section in the Latte article and merged a couple of sentences from this article into it (any more would be WP:UNDUE). If there aren't any objections, I can redirect this articled there. --Ahecht (TALK

      • The addition to the Latte article looks pretty good to me. Appropriate amount of attention given to the subject and citations preserved for the curious reader. Ibadibam (talk) 17:17, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge. Seriously, adding my own milk instead of buying a latte? This is (barely) a Wikinews article masquerading as an encyclopedic topic. —  AjaxSmack  01:29, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I also support a merge, as it doesn't really merit its own article. I also support doing away with reference to "ghetto" latte. "Bootleg", with its primary association with alcohol, is not really appropriate either. "Poor man's latte" I think fits best.--Akhooha (talk) 02:46, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nominate for AfD I think my jaw actually dropped a little when I read the article. What next, an article on how you can make your own hot salsa by mixing pepper and ketchup? One on how McDonald's doesn't let one use an unlimited amount of paper handkerchiefs? I have tagged with {{notability}} [1], as all the sources seem to be a spat of silly season articles from a couple of years ago, an arch-example of WP:NOTNEWS #2. walk victor falk talk 02:55, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
