Audio sample
[edit]Them's original Gloria needs an audio sample if someone could include one. Patti Smith's cover has one already. Agadant (talk) 15:24, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Gloria.ogg
[edit]The image Image:Gloria.ogg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Dave Berry comment
[edit]Do we really need this? Seems to me to be just a throw-away comment by an (alleged) humorist who basically made his living by bad-mouthing almost anything. He was not a musician (as far as I know) nor a music critic; given that he was a humorist, this comment may or may not reflect his actual opinion about the song. Wschart (talk) 16:52, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
- Without such afflatus, Wikipedia would sink below the waves beyond salvage. I long ago had to resign myself to reading horsefeathers from ‘critics’ and commentators cited on Wiki. It’s the fatal pop-culture flaw in this resource, its weeping wen. --2001:44B8:3102:BB00:84EA:5FF3:A6F0:8719 (talk) 08:03, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

A First?
[edit]Hi Wikipedians, Since I have had no luck confirming a theory, I'll put this here and see if this makes sense to add to the main portion of the article.
For the sake of time stamps, I'll refer to this version on YouTube.
An argument I have been making is that at 2:00 in the above version, is that the "drum" that enters there is actually a Timbale. Timbales have a unique sound and my ear picks that up. It's more clear at about 2:28 in the version above. To further the argument, if that is a Timbale being played, is that Gloria is the first Rock and roll song to use Timbales.
Any sentiment to add this to the main article? -d.
Additional search on this topic yielded this article; non-conclusive as to the sound actually being timbales, but supportive of the possibility. ChatoHinojosa (talk) 19:37, 15 September 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChatoHinojosa (talk • contribs) 15:43, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
