Merger proposal

I propose retitling this article Governorship of Arnold Schwarzenegger and merging First term of Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor of California and Second term of Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor of California back into it. Content from the section on his later political career can be deleted from this article and moved instead to his main article, if important enough.
None of these three articles' topics are extensive enough to warrant separate articles. It makes no sense for Scharzennegger to be the only U.S. governor to receive seperate articles for different terms. Especially when you remember his first term was a partial one.
@JayCoop took the initiative to split the articles in 2019. I think it was a mistake to make this three separate articles, however. SecretName101 (talk) 07:31, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- I also propose the other two articles be turned into redirects without deleting their editing history, so that the editing history of the content that will be merged can be understood. SecretName101 (talk) 07:33, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- I will proceed boldly sometime this month. SecretName101 (talk) 19:35, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
@SecretName101, I'm late, but for the record, I support the merge of the two into Governorship of Arnold Schwarzenegger, but not into political career of Arnold Schwarzenegger. DecafPotato (talk) 18:47, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- @DecafPotato Political career of Arnold Schwarzenegger is to be (upon merging) non-controversially moved to "Governorship of Arnold Schwarzenegger, with the non-related items moved to Schwarzenegger's main article. Sorry if that was unclear SecretName101 (talk) 19:26, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- @SecretName101: just reminding you, in case it has inadvertently fallen of your to-do list. Klbrain (talk) 10:22, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Will start on it soon SecretName101 (talk) 18:45, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- I am working on it right now. It's less than straightforward because the current state of the articles on his terms are in a weird pure-chronological arrangement rather than separated by subject. Some actions are mentioned in one paragraph, and their follow-up actions mentioned in passing paragraphs later. I'm reshaping it to be more sensibly arranged. Also removing some of the content, as some of it is un-notable day-by-day recounting of inconsequential or off-subject activities. SecretName101 (talk) 00:17, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Klbrain Completed, now only waiting on the rename (which I have requested as a non-controversial page move request) SecretName101 (talk) 06:06, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- Will start on it soon SecretName101 (talk) 18:45, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
