Talk:Great-winged petrel
Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Pterodroma macroptera in flight 3 - SE Tasmania.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on August 3, 2014. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2014-08-03. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:41, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

- IOC hasn't accepted it yet. Need to look at literature....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 02:42, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
- It appears that BirdLife, the IUCN and del Hoyo are all following the split, which I think is a good indication for it being accepted. Accordingly, I've made the needed changes here and will put up a short article for P. gouldi. Agreed?-- Elmidae (talk) 07:56, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

New scientific paper on this species
[edit]I don't have access without paying the $6 read fee but this paper was recently published. It supports reinstatement of full species status for the grey-faced petrel, Pterodroma macroptera gouldi. Ambrosia10 (talk) 21:04, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- I've just been emailed a copy of the paper by one of it's authors. I've now cited it in the article. I'll head over to seperate article for species to quote scientific paper there as well.Ambrosia10 (talk) 21:41, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
