Prose

[edit]

Background

  • "by the renaming of NERIT as ERT" Should it be the "by renaming NERIT to ERT" or something similar because that seems weirdly worded.

Artist Selection

  • "Previously the broadcaster had said that they would select the entry internally, however they reconsidered, seeing Ellinikós Telikós, the Greek selection event, as a revenue source." I feel like it should either be "...entry internally, however, they reconsidered," or "...entry internally. However, they reconsidered,"
  • "...with her song to be selected though a three-song national final." should be through.

Ellinikós Telikós 2017

  • "was televised on ERT1, ERT HD and ERT World as well as" should be a comma after ERT HD.
  • "Former Eurovision contestants Sergey Lazarev, Helena Paparizou, Ani Lorak and Sakis Rouvas also appeared on screen" comma after Ani Lorak.

Preparations and promotion

  • "final version of the song and its accompanying music video were revealed on 13 March" feel like 'was' is a better thing to say there than were.
  • "promoted the song throughout Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland." comma after Denmark.

At Eurovision

  • "(France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom)" comma after Spain.
  • "were televised in Greece on ERT1, ERT HD and ERT World" Comma after ERT HD.

Performances

  • "featured Demy standing on a leveled podium and a hologram screen which appeared in front of the singer" I feel that it would be better to replace 'which' with 'that'.
  • "Demy was joined by three off-stage backing vocalists: Erasmia Markidi, Evgenia Liakou and Paris Paraskevadis-Planets." comma after Evgenia Liakou.

Voting

  • "two sets of points from 1-8, 10 and 12:" comma after 10.
  • "and the overall impression by the act." I think 'by' should be replaced with 'of'.
  • "Vicky Gerotheodorou (jury chairperson), Xenia Ghali, Dimitris Ouggarezos [el], Akis Anastasiadis and Aris Petrakis." comma after Akis Anastasiadis.

That seems to be all for prose! Onegreatjoke (talk) 18:07, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Improved to Good Article status by Grk1011 (talk). Nominated by Onegreatjoke (talk) at 03:05, 1 June 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.[reply]

  • New enough, long enough. Hook short enough, interesting, and sourced, as is everything that needs it; ALT1 is slightly better. No neutrality problems found, no copyright problems found, no maintenance templates found. QPQ done and image properly licensed. Good to go.--Launchballer 11:54, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
