Grupo Modelo does or does not trade on the NYSE? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.251.125.85 (talk) 02:03, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

I have a bottle of Victoria Beer 40 oz with an American label and saying it's imported by M.J. International Corp. New York, NY 10474 so apparently it is imported to the US in a size not available in Mexico. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.3.73.252 (talk) 16:36, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Victoria is definitely sold in Texas and has been for over one year. I believe it's also incorrect to say they don't export to the US. Those brands like Corona and Modelo are readily available. I'm going to remove those comments from the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomkost (talkcontribs) 17:03, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Estrella (Estrella de Jalisco) and Montejo are sold in California's Bay Area as relative bargain brands, with Montejo being the lower-priced of the two. I've seen Estrella since 2017 and Montejo since 2018. LQ (talk) 03:01, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

brands

[edit]

Do we really need to list every product that the company makes? If it is notable in itself then it is fine but if not then one line in the article is pretty useless. I've removed loads of PR talk after seeing a post at WP:COIN, obviously the company have edited the article so that it includes all of these but do other people think it is necessary? market share

[edit]

The first para contains two different percentages for their market share. Can someone who knows which is more recent/reliable remove the other one? 80.229.220.14 (talk) 13:34, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

POV

[edit]

"Exposure to sunlight or light from fluorescent bulbs such as those used in refrigerated display cases significantly damages the taste of beer, yielding a taste that is often described as "skunky". This is the result of the essential hop oils spoiling due to UV exposure."

Please remove this sentence. This is POV, and links to a site where non-experts rate beers based on nothing more than their subjective opinions. Sd31263 (talk) 07:35, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone explain how the description of where Modelo operates are weasel words?

History: something is wrong …

[edit]

"Grupo Modelo, founded in 1925…" "Corona … was first brewed in 1925 by Cervecería Modelo on the tenth anniversary of the brewery." One of these facts must be wrong. (I suspect the second one.) Zythophile (talk) 00:39, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The text from the AB website reads:

Corona Extra was first brewed in 1925 at the Cervecería Modelo in Mexico City, Mexico. Ten years after its launch, Corona became the best-selling beer in Mexico.

I suspect this has been misinterpreted at some stage as:

Corona Extra was first brewed in 1925 at the Cervecería Modelo in Mexico City, Mexico, ten years after its launch. Corona became the best-selling beer in Mexico [some unspecified time later].

The current article text does not match the website. Tevildo (talk) 23:28, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Last paragraph is written strangely
