I'm adding more info today. I know that it qualifies as original research, but as far as I can see, so does everything else in the article, and it has surprised me that it has stood unchallenged so far. I would also say that pretty much any article on an obscure video game is going to consist of almost entirely OR statements. (But it's not like there's anything to be gained by putting up false info.) Soap Talk/Contributions 08:12, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just noting that plot summaries are allowed as the info can be verified by playing the game ... it's a pretty deep hole in the verifiability policy, but it exists and it's not just me making things up to keep my article on the wiki. Besides, I actually wanted to AfD it at one point but was told it was notable. Soap 02:22, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

I've done a bit of a cleanup of this, added some cite tags where needed and removed the extremely biased and un-encyclopedic section on the AI. Unfortunately I'm not in the mood for citations and so forth, so that might wait until later 202.134.239.230 (talk) 12:38, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I found a reference for the multiple names. The other two things are goin to be hard. The best I can do for the AI question is link to a game review; the other one is just something I happen to know from talking to the programmers. Soap Talk/Contributions 19:16, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Windows version

[edit]

The Infobox claims that a "Windows" version exists. I couldn't find it. Does anyone have a link? If not, I suggest removing "Windows" from the "Platform(s)" field of the Infobox. ProResearcher (talk) 10:41, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, the game was only for DOS. I think it may have been common at the time to include Windows on the label of DOS games (and maybe other software) so that people would be less likely to see them as outdated. And there may be another reason .... I remember some games, such as DOOM, that required the player to reboot the computer into DOS mode, meaning that all other programs had to shut down. I believe HURL did not require this .... while the game ran in DOS, it was able to run in a DOS prompt within Windows, which some other games could not do. So maybe the Windows label wasnt just a marketing ploy after all. Soap 16:40, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
