Notes Section

[edit]

I removed the Notes section because it wasn't about Happy Hogan. The fact that Hogan temporarily took up the mantle of Iron Man doesn't mean that discussion several others who took up the mantle in separate circumstances is germane to an article on Happy Hogan. --JamesAM 01:56, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Susan Richards

[edit]

I think Susan Richards should be mentioned in the article. She was there when Iron Man -seemingly- made his decision to mess with Hogan's life support. Even if he didn't, she was messing around during the hours leading to his death. Lots42 (talk) 06:02, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Tos76happygenecolan.jpg

[edit]

Image:Tos76happygenecolan.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Happy HoganHappy Hogan (comics) – ...and then recast Happy Hogan as a disambiguation page. Reason being Happy Hogan (baseball) has been created. The question is, is the Marvel Comics Happy Hogan the primary topic for that name? In one sense you could say yeah, you've heard of him and his article is a lot longer. He's probably a lot better known to many more readers.

However, keep in mind that Happy Hogan (baseball) is an actual person in actual history, is a member of the hall of fame of league which was a very important leauge and was a founding member of that league, and was perhaps its best-known member in his time; keep in mind that minor league baseball in Hogan's time was independent and much more important than now -- somewhat like college football today, say. At his death "In the most remarkable tribute ever paid to the memory of any man in Los Angeles, 10,000 persons choked the (Wrigley Field (Los Angeles)) stands."[1] (granted, it was a (benefit) ballgame, so you have to assume the crowd was there for that mainly...).

He's forgotten now, and you've never heard of him, but see WP:BUTIDONTKNOWABOUTIT; in the world-historical sense -- in terms of long-term significance -- Happy Hogan the ballplayer is probably at least on a reasonable par with the fictional secondary comic-book character.
