Grawp
[edit]How can Grawp be between S't Mungos and Grimmauld Place? That scene is at Hogwarts, or isn't it?--81.236.17.8 19:42, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Proof?
[edit]Non-Playable So far it is said that the following characters will be in the game :
Severus Snape Hermione Granger Ron Weasley Dolores Umbridge Voldemort Bellatrix Lestrange Dudley Dursley Rubeus Hagrid Grawp the giant
Where is the proof, I want to know! So far all I have heard is that Harry, Dumbledore, and Sirius are playable characters, there is no proof that Hermione and Ron are just non-playable characters! (I hope they are playable characters!)
Reasons why Ron and Hermione are not playable:
[edit]If you follow this link you will find a post on the Leaky Lounge about Ron and Hermione's unplayability. Link: Leaky Lounge
Note especially the part about taking over and becoming a leader. This is a very good reason why they are not playable.
NOTE: The person that made this post has visited EA studios and this is what EA have said themselves.
Where is the proof...
[edit]... of the stuff that is getting put on here?
Items that have not been confirmed
[edit]- It has been confirmed Bertie Bott's every flavour beans are NOT going to be in this game!
- Dungbombs, Stinkpellets: Just because these have been in several of the other games, doesn't mean they will be in this one!
- Brooms: Although EA would love to put flying into this game, because of their small team size and limited time, they have made their priorities and exploring a large Hogwarts is at the top of this list.
Creatures that have not been confirmed:
[edit]- Blast-Ended Skrewts: Once again, just because they are in previous games, doesnt mean they will be in this one!
- Hedwig: Not confirmed.
Spells that have not been confirmed:
[edit]- A whole bunch! i pretty sure stupify and wingardium leviousa are going to be in the game
Characters that have not been confirmed:
[edit]- Although all the characters on that list are most likely to be in the game, the last three have not been confirmed. All the others can be found in the first link at the bottom of the page and searching carefully.
However...
[edit]If you have seen proof of these things, just link here to the page where you have seen it!
Xbox and Gamecube=
[edit]The game is not going to come out on these platforms. It has been confirmed by EA.

Characters in the game
[edit]CONFIRMED CHARACTERS IN THE GAME Leak Fan Council Threads—Preceding unsigned comment added by Joecool15 (talk • contribs) 20:18, January 21, 2007
- Message boards are not reliable sources. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 04:35, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Actually this is not a message board its a FAN COUNCIL...that means that one of the Mods VISITED EA HEADQUARTERS and brought back all of this CONFRMED INFO. Go check it out. Thanks. --JOecool15—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Joecool15 (talk • contribs) 11:22, 22 January 2007 (UTC).
- It's still not a reliable source. I have provded the link to read more about it; go read it. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 19:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
I would not post unreliable information, listen to the podcasts and read the transcripts and fan events in the sources section. Obviously nothing is getting done after you delete everything I put up which is ridiculous. Is there something Im doing wrong? Joecool15 22:18, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know you, and neither does the article's readers. You are not a reliable source. Finally, on my talk page, you have pointed me in a more specific direction, but the burden is on the person who adds to information to provide a specific citation for it. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 22:26, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- I looked at the information you gave me and almost added something from it, but then I realized that nowhere does it actually say who is speaking. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 02:18, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Go to this site and click the button on the left, it says Interview with EA, with a big EA games logo next to it. Listen to the first 10 seconds. They are the producers of Harry Potter video games. Justin Manning and Matt Birch.Joecool15 11:02, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, buddy, I dunno where you've been, but what Joe is saying is 100% true. That site is the official discussion for the Fan's Council for the OOTP game. I'm known as hallowethe there, and I've put my suggestions and such into the game, as has Joe and quite a few others. EA UK looks at that thread for suggestions directly from the fans. It's official. Stop arguing Chris because no matter what you make of it, you are 100% wrong.
- I see you've deleted the Fan's Council link in the sources section, now called Further Reading for some reason. OK, I am known as Inny Binny on that thread and yes, as the last person said, it is 100% reliable and true. But lets just say for one moment that it is an unreliable source. I recently put a "Sequence of Events" section in the article, and yet you deleted that too. If you looked at the http://www.hpana.com/news.19572.201.html link (first on the list) you will see that under the paragraph "Let The Game Begin" there is all the information you need right there to compile that sequence of events that I put down in this article that day. So you are deleting stuff that is definitely reliable. If it needed citations, why didn't you put those citations in yourself, rather than deleting absolutely everything that members from the Fan's Council are putting in?
Vandalism
[edit]The plot and playable characters section has ben vandalized.
- Awesome. Please fix it when you see it. If you need help, ask me. Thanks, Chris Griswold (☎☓) 05:39, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
There's also some really badly written 'How to Cast Spells' section that seems to have mysteriously popped up. Might want to either redo it or remove it. -cheetory6
vandishing
[edit]It has been vandished. I had a picture section and it was removed CF Captain Dell970 00:50, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- It has not at all been vandished. Those pictures are not for use as decoration. It's not clear what the pictures are of or what they mean to this article. They violate fair use rules, and I am removing them again. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 01:37, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
UK/Europe release date
[edit]This has very recently been changed to 6th July. Where has this info come from? It has been confirmed for a long time as 29th June. 84.70.184.106 00:10, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Spells?
[edit]Alot of those spells are speculated and not sourced, I'm going to use a source and rewrite the spells that are in there if no one objects. 69.213.250.85 18:33, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Sirius Black and Dumbledore playable in Demo
[edit]Tha FilePlanet demo of the game which was published recently claims in its website (http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/harrypotter/uk.aspx) that players are able to play as "Harry, Sirius Black, Dumbledore™ and others". It's very possible that this feature appears in the full game to, but I don't have any other sources to confirm it. Orderph 23:57, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have the game. Yes, you do get to play as each of them- as Dumbledore when he duels Lord Voldemort, and as Sirius Black when he fights Bellatrix Lestrange. Leemorrison 17:49, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Picture?
[edit]Shouldn't the picture for the game cover be of the Wii? It has gotten the highest ratings of the consoles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.43.44.158 (talk • contribs) 05:20, June 26, 2007) (UTC)
- That hardly matters. It's fine as it is. Leemorrison 17:48, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Why is the cover photo of a French Game?
[edit]We're running an English encyclopedia, but we have a French cover for this video game --82.36.182.217 19:20, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well. it's the same cover (just a different rating)
No the title "order of the phoenix is in french, it should be changed as this is an english wikipedia. Salavat 15:20, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- I just replaced the French version with a PlayStation 3 English cover. Salavat 13:35, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
They fudged up the dates!
[edit]At one point, Nearly Headless Nick states that Harry attended his 500th deathday in his second year at the school (in the second book). While this is true, Hermione then states that this event would make the year of Nick's death 1492. But if this is also true, then that means that Harry was in his second year in 1992, meaning that this game takes place in 1995! Bolmedias 09:54, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
That is because it does take place in 1995. Fugio 16:34, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
List of Non Playable Charactors
[edit]i m going to get rid of the list as it is pointless and just adds length to the artical User:CoolChris99] 16:07, 10th August 2007 (UTC)
Avada Kedavra
[edit]I haven't palyed the game yet, but it seems highly unlikely to me that Dumbledore would use this spell against Harry Potter. Can someone confirm/deny please? Thank you. --Burek 09:55, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Lupin? Voldemort?
[edit]I've just beaten the game yesterday and never did I get to play as Lupin or Voldemort. Either I was really unobservant, or you can't play as them at all. Where in the game do you get to play as Lupin or Voldemort? Sincerely, Thrashmeister {U|T|C} 14:59, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
U can't... coolchris99 —Preceding unsigned comment added by CoolChris99 (talk • contribs) 16:30, August 28, 2007 (UTC)
How you cast spells
[edit]Is it just me or is the "How you cast spells" portion of the "Spells Used in the Game" section really, really badly written? I would correct it, but I have no idea what the OP is trying to say. Here is the text: "That thing that another Harry Potter's games don't have,is the way you cast spells. In order of pheonix, you must move your mouse or your control console to cast spells. The way you move that is get a spell you have learn." Can anyone translate and/or correct? 69.70.248.73 20:24, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Levicorpus?
[edit]How do they use Levicorpus in the game when it's not revealed until book six? Sure he sees it being used, but he doesn't hear the words or know what spell it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.43.249.139 (talk) 02:05, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's not really relevant. I guess they just wanted to use it for the sake of having another spell to learn. Leemorrison (talk) 21:54, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Cast
[edit]I think there should be a cast of characters on this page. It says that 22 of the characters are voiced by their original actors, but who?Green Kirby 21:50, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that the fact that 22 characters are properly voiced should be cited, but listing cast and characters merely repeats parts of other pages and should probably link to them instead. Leemorrison (talk) 21:55, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Dan did not do the voice of Harry for the video game. He was busy doing Equus at the time that they were doing voiceovers for the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.113.239.204 (talk) 00:58, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
References to the Harry Potter series
[edit]If anyone has played this game as thoroughly as I have, you'll know that there are countless references to the series. I know it may make the game seem more appealing, but I question its encyclopedic use here? Plus its ability to be maintained.
Gay15boy 09:56, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- It's pointless to keep record of every little detail, since the game was designed to be a replica of Hogwarts- its basically a random list of things that happen in the books. I'm deleting it. Leemorrison (talk) 21:52, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Changed the order of the list of platforms the game was released on.
[edit]It seemed inappropriate for a big game like HP, mainly marketed as a console game, to be listed as a GBA-game first. Therefore, I changed the order of the titles. Wikiburger (talk) 20:44, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- One option would be to release them in an arbitrary order, like alphabetical or in the order they were released. --Technotaoist (talk) 04:31, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Place and cost
[edit]Ok, so I really want to get the game, so couls someone tell me how much does it cost, and where you can buy it, please? That would really help me.!192.220.128.22 (talk) 01:32, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Duel Section
[edit]This section ignores NPOV, uses weasel words, and gives no citations. That being said, There is probably some good information there. If anyone who is familiar with the game and the details, it would improve the article if someone could correct some or all of the errors. --Technotaoist (talk) 04:28, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Slytherin Common room
[edit]The page states thata glitch makes the stairs to the slytherin common room stop abruptly at a stone wall. Isn't that wall supposed to be there? thats how the books describe the entrance to the Slytherin common room and Harry wouldnt know the password. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.204.126.216 (talk) 01:59, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Voices
[edit]Emma Watson didn't voice the Hermione in the game, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1694316/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.83.118.53 (talk) 14:17, 25 May 2008 (UTC) Yes, you're right, Harper Marshall did and for some reason it keeps getting changed back.--Debbie rocks (talk) 23:24, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
