First flight date?

[edit]

I have a note that the Venture first flew on 3 Apr 49, but can't find a reference. . . Mean as custard (talk) 15:52, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is that the UK or the Australian one? Maybe the Australian register entry on VH-GDU would help with its dates. Glad you found Bolton's given names - it looked a bit odd after Milb dug up Zander's but I could not find them'TSRL (talk) 16:21, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've sent a query to Narromine to see what they know - not least do they have all of it, not just the rudder! Might be interesting though possibly not citable.TSRL (talk) 18:02, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The British Venture first flew on 3 Apr 49, and the Australian one on 2 Oct 53 (but didn't become VH-GDU until 1957). Bolton's full name was Henry Eccarius Bolton. He emigrated to the USA in the early 1950s. . . Mean as custard (talk) 20:00, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
