Hi, User:Netherzone, I'm seeking a second opinion here again. The subject of this article won a notable award. There is plenty sources on her, but they are all written with a lack of distance from her. On one hand, the sources are the United Nations and Vogue Magazine. I am confident that the first has independence, individual Palestinian engineers don't tend to have much influence over the United Nations. Likewise, I think we can say Vogue has editorial rigour. But no sources are really written without her input. What do you think? CT55555 (talk) 23:04, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@CT55555 WOW she seems like a really amazing person! I am getting a blank page for the first citation, so you might want to check that. I think the Vogue citation and the UN are fine. See WP:THREE. The others are connected (primary sourcing) so while they can be used for some biographical facts about her life, they probably should not be used solely to substantiate her notability. My gut instinct is that there is a possibility it might deleted if submitted to main space now. I would suggest waiting and keeping an eye out for additional secondary sources so it meets THREE, and keeping it in draft space or user space for now (that is what I would do if this was my draft...I'd put it on my "to do" list until independent sources are found.) I imagine there will be a lot written about a dynamic woman like her in the near future! However as you say, she did win a notable award, so that might put her over the bar for WP:ANYBIO. Criteron #1 says: "The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor" - I'm not sure if a notable award is the same as a "well-known and significant award" - guess that would be up for interpretation if it were ever taken to AfD. Not sure if that helps, but I will definitely keep an eye out and if I find things to improve it I will either contact you or improve the draft. Netherzone (talk) 23:25, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I just had some inspiration, realizing that most coverage of her will be in Arabic, I searched and found a source. I've added it and fixed the erroneous url in the first citation. I'll search a bit more later, but I think I've got it to WP:THREECT55555 (talk) 00:20, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Great! How do you do the search - do you use a foreign language search engine, or do you copy and paste her name in Arabic in to Google? Netherzone (talk) 00:24, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I just use google translate on her name and then search in Google, and then my browser translates the article back into English. CT55555 (talk) 00:28, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
