Thanks, Taksen, for your additions to this article. I was particularly interested to learn that Ruse left the army in 1651 because of problems with his legs and that he also designed houses in Amsterdam (thanks for the picture). Could you possibly provide references here as I have been unable to find them myself? I also seem to remember reading something to the effect that Ruse designed a church somewhere in the Netherlands but I cannot relocate the details. Perhaps you can help out here too. Hello Ipigott, because of his problems he went to the spa in Padua. Then he decided to see his relatives. This is written in his book from 1654, which starts with a half a page biography. It is said that Henrick Ruse designed a church in Hoogeveen. I dont have a pagenumbers. The book is available in the University Library. For a picture of the church see http://www.grotekerkhoogeveen.nl/Algemeen/Algemeen.htm
Thanks for your rapid response. I have seen that Ruse's book is also available in electronic form but I have not succeeded in obtaining access. Or perhaps you can direct me to an electronic version of the biography? Ipigott (talk) 11:58, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
