Many thanks, Lugnuts, for the unfriendly welcome to Wikipedia.
Responding to the invitation, "You can help Wikipedia by expanding it", I joined to help elaborate the biography I discovered you had created for my grandfather, Henry "Hank" Cieman.
Rather than helping to improve the edits I made, you deleted them all, leaving the comment "what a mess" and making reference to "CIR", while ignoring what one would hope would be among the most basic of this site's (supposed) CIR standards:
"One must take care when responding to the perceived lack of competence in others. Be mindful of what incompetence is and is not. Incompetence is not lack of knowledge. Responding to competence issues requires care and understanding of the background of a situation.
It does not mean "come down hard like a ton of bricks on someone as soon as they make a mistake." We should cut editors (particularly new ones) some slack, and help them understand how to edit competently. Mistakes are an inevitable part of the wiki process.
It does not mean perfection is required. Articles can be improved in small steps, rather than being made perfect in one fell swoop. Small improvements are our bread and butter." Source: Competence is required
Lugnuts, your tagline reads "I make the Wikipedia not suck." Not in my experience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joel.acb (talk • contribs) 20:52, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
