[edit]I deleted a quote from Schweizer's book the truth of which was not verifiable and the content of which was not core to the artcile. The violence of the two strikes mentioned in the artcile was small compared to the later stike at Warner Bros. in 1945 by the set decorators, where strikebreakers hired by Warner Bros. attacked the strickers, over 40 casualties were reported. Peter Schweizer's facts have been questioned in other forums, see for example book critiques on Amazon.com. There is no question that Peter Schweizer got the dates of the strikes mixed up. There has been no independant verification of Peter Schweizer's alleged facts about the communist funding related to Herb Sorrel, nor about the quote that remains in the article. It appears that there is no National Executive Council of the Communist Party. The Communist Party of the USA, just as the Russian one, had and has a central committee (called the National Committee) and a Politburo. It is possible that Schweizer is referring to the Politburo. Having received no independent verification of the "sluggers" quote, I have removed it, as I have also removed the reference to the "National Executive Council of the Communist Party" for the same reason. If you have independent verification of these items (i.e. something other than Peter Schweizer's assertions), please post them. Bejnar 16:47, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
